I got through about 10% of the book and had to quit. The story was intriguing; the grammar, punctuation, spelling, and word usage errors were just too grating.

interest was peaked (not piqued); the sun peaked (not peeked) through the...; There was a strait (not straight) jacket;
You'll tour with Evan and I (not me); social media sights (not sites); he pushed his chair back in the isle (not aisle);
When I ask what they mean(no comma) neither go(not goes)...
her arm and hand burn at the sight(not site)...
first aide(not aid) box...
there's no comparison between myself(not me) and Raquel.

I could go on and on...because so do the errors. I know these books aren't expensive and that they are self-published for the most part, but SOMEBODY needs to be responsible for the hatchet job done on the English language.

People with good ideas need to hire people with good skills to look these over!

If you are looking for a sweet and steamy read, you have found it! I just finished so I am still reeling from the cliff hanger...I want more!

Charlie Carter embarks on an adventure when she agrees to be a part of Colin McKenna's presidential campaign. From the very beginning you can see the connection and electricity between the two.

Charlie has a past that has prevented her from pursing relationships, that is until she meets Colin.

Colin McKenna is living day to day fighting to become the Republican candidate for presidency. He brings Charlie as as a part of his team. He's impressed with her writing and ability to separate her own personal beliefs and convey the facts of the situation in her writing. This is one of the reasons Colin wants her. The others...Let me just give you a small sample of the hotness that is Colin MacKenna.

"I breathe you, Charlie."

"Hear me when I say this, I don't ever want another man's hands on you - never again. Tell me you understand.

Colin is gentle, caring and demanding all rolled into one giant package of sexy goodness.

Midnight is the first of the McKenna Chronicles and it does leave things unresolved, but it's worth it. I promise.

Elizabeth Miller did a fantastic job! I am anxiously awaiting book 2 in the series. (please hurry)

Wow this book is amazing.

Story is intriguing and captivating at the same time.

Ms. Miller brings us a wonderful story about Charlise (Charlie) Carter and Sentator Colin McKenna.

Colin is stomping the country attempting to get votes to become the Republican Candidate for President. Charlie is hired for his campaign staff as a social media coordinator. Both have something sordid in their past and are a bit broken. But, magnetism for each other is breathtaking, both for them and for the reader!

Charlie's past is heartbreaking at best and to see her grow is wonderful. Colin's past is still mostly a secret. Then throw some stalker action in and the story is fully rounded. I found all the characters in the book well developed and the ones you hate you will hate with a passion and the ones you love you will cheer for and hope they find forever.

I will say, it is a cliffhanger but well worth the read. Will Charlie and Colin have HEA? (God I hope so!), who is the stalker? Is it someone from Colin's past or from Charlie's! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I will be on pins and needles till the next installment!

I recommend this book to anyone who like hot men, strong women, a lot of romance, and a bit of a mystery!

I picked up this book thinking it was a political thriller/romance. It was neither. Colin is a wealthy hot senator (we are told this over and over and over...) running for President. Charlie is a foster child journalist blogger hired to run the media part of his campaign. We are only told that he is a Republican and has a strict no abortion under any circumstance policy. Charlie has opposing views. Colin and Charlie have an immediate sexual attraction to each (the old cliche "electricity" when they touch). Colin wants and affair with Charlie but only sex because he is a widow and he has no heart to give. Everything has to be a secret. Charlie agrees. Why? Because he's hot!
I'm not sure how much campaigning gets done. Colin meets with old buddies and has dinners. Charlie blogs on her computer and takes photos. They have sex...a lot. She is supposed to be a strong 29 year old but in reality she is a sexually inexperienced woman who was abused as a teenager. He doesn't notice that? Why would she jump into bed with him? Oh, that right.... he's hot! UGH
Colin treats Charlie like crap but Charlie seems to be ok with it because she keeps coming back. Why? You guessed it!
Colins sister in law, who he also had an affair with and his former father in law are with him on the campaign trail because they are rich and can help him win the election. The sister in law is a B who treats Charlie with scorn because she wants him for herself but he says nothing and only gives her dirty looks. Oh and Charlie is a clumsy. She is continually getting injured and it seems only Colin can help her. Doesn't every person running for president get a security detail? And she has a stalker. We don't know if this person is from her past or his.
OK, I will be honest. I only read 50% of the book.
