Echo is still missing the twin sister she loved more than life itself. Life softens for a time when you are a teen and in love but nothing stays soft for Echo. Her sister’s death still haunts her day and night and the boy she loves is stone cold, dead. He is a vampire that haunts her heart. Echo must now make life choices that will astound you when you read this next part of her adventure. Shadowed by death, loss, and love what teen could hold on to everything. Echo realizes something must change but when it involves losing her heart and seeing those she loves changed so much it hurts can she bear it? Her deal with the devil, Eyota Vega, will change it all, everything. Mystery, intrigue, and lots of twists and turns. Celebrate Halloween with Echo and see where the holiday takes her.
If you had the chance to change your life-to forget your first true love, force him past you, to make him move on, to make him forget you and what you could be together so that he could be fulfilled—could you? Could you be that strong? Could you make that sacrifice? Could you open your heart to the possibility that there can be more than one true love-that there can be more than one type of true love, love without the highs and lows of heartbreak, love with the sparks of light and magic? Could you open your heart to that idea? Could you live that? I love Echo, she captured my heart in Thirteen Ways to Midnight, Midnight Saga because she is human, she loves and loves deeply, she grieves hard and profoundly, she is fallible and steals your heart away. I feel her emotions, I cry with her when she cries, and I laugh when she laughs, I even feel clumsy with her when she falls! She is written so well that she is real to me, I am there with her. I see her room, her house, I can smell Thorn and Asher’s wonderful scents and I feel the rain pouring down on me! Echo’s life is filled with her Aunt Luna who has a propensity to spice things up with a few herbs and a little magic, Thorn who loves only Echo and wants her with steadfast determination despite of seemly insurmountable obstacles, Asher who is hoping that Thorn is out of the picture because he wants Echo too, Echo’s family and friends who support her along the way. And the most important person in her life who transcends all the others, her twin Midnight who died so that Echo could live. Echo is still learning how to live—she is still striving to learn how to deal with the loss of the other half of her soul—the deepest, truest love that claims her completely above all others, above her family, her friends, Thorn and Asher. Her love for Midnight even exceeds the love she has for herself and she sees her twin everywhere she looks. Love is beautiful, but it can be painful, just like the thorn on a rose stem—do you still love the rose or do you discard it because the thorn pricked you? Echo needs to decide whether to continue to feel only the pain of the thorn or to choose to dwell on the beauty of the rose--or would she choose that she never received the rose at all?
Echo still trying to mend from Loosing her twin Midnight. Though for me, I have and maybe hope that there is something more that we might find out later on as this series unfolds. Echo's parents are able to dig further in the matter leaving that journey open.
I can't wait to find out what else is next to this amazing series.
