Midnighter 1: Out Paperback – February 23, 2016
Purchase options and add-ons
Between the supercomputer wired into his brain and the enhancements saturating his body, the living weapon known as Midnighter doesn’t face a lot of real challenges to his uncanny combat skills. Lucky for him, he enjoys beating the tar out of low-level bad guys as much as the high-end ones—and since his recent breakup with his first love (and fellow superhuman) Apollo, he’s had plenty of chances to engage in his unique brand of physical therapy.
Now, insanely dangerous weapons are beginning to pop up all over the globe, wreaking havoc on society and complicating Midnighter’s professional and personal life. As the outbreaks pile up, tracking them back to the original thief becomes an overriding imperative .

That being said. It was about as confusing as the Grayson books. Which isn't bad... but I did feel "lost in the action" at times. Overall, it was a really fun book. I love midnighter's attitude, I love his "power", I think it's all VERY cool and while I sorta saw the ending coming... it still played out really well.
It would be a stretch to say it's the best comic DC has out now... but I will say it's one of the best. Definitely give it a try. I really look forward to seeing how this series continues. Will for SURE be buying volume 2
As far as the comic and story itself, the best way I can describe it is it's like reading William Gibson writing superheroes. Crazy future ideas and a fair amount of grit on every page. And the art by Aco is absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommended.
As for the order, it was great. It arrived quickly and there weren't any problems with shipping or anything, and I thought it was a very good price. 10/10 would buy again :D

Orlando seems to give it his best shot. With unusual confidence this is a seven issue series that allows the story – simple as it is – more time to breathe and to re-establish what Midnighter is all about. Which is sex and punching people.
Time is given to establish what has come before and most importantly what happened with Apollo (Midnighter’s greatest love interest). It also links up with a Grayson book, as in Dick Grayson of Batman (how ironic). The narrative loves its flashbacks and cutaways it seems to be composed more of individual scenes in a flick book that rush past you.
The art is that chaotic ramble you might see in a teen superhero book. It definitely tells you it is trying hard, and probably too hard. It does attempt to give the illusion that you are seeing Midnighter’s computer brain process a million things at once. But it’s not enough to distract from the story and can feel a little too garish.
Thumbs Up!
A character who loves his job of fighting bad guys, relishing every second of it. With a computer in his brain that helps him to calculate every possible outcome of a situation and deal with it accordingly it also comes very easy to Midnighter to fight the bad guys.
The problem for Midnighter is his everyday life, he just cannot cope with a normal life. And that is what makes Midnighter special, normal heros struggle with their superhero life but Midnighter is the other way around. Midnighter stands out as being a gay superhero but for me he is just a fantastically fun character to read who just happens to be gay.
