When I was going to Junior High and High School (tough days for me..) I used to ditch school and go to the local mall and pump int $20 into the cyberball game at the local arcade.... loved that game...
When the PS3 and xbox both came out with PSN downloads of the game individually..the sound sometimes would screw up and only had basically 2 player cooperative play.. it just wasn't the full tournament cyberball feeling to it (there were two arcade versions..)
anyway when I saw the reviews on this midway arcade origins...they fixed the cyberball sound and made it so you can actually (I think..) play 4 players on that game...good party game.
Also there are a few other arcade games.. I know crash tv is on there that was very popular at the arcades and there are a few other classic midway's that you might like.. but my main reason was for cyberball. Best version there is out there right now... so this was a good purchase for me! :)
Next to todays games it would get one star, but that's not why I bought this. This is the original and that's it. I thought I would get it for my kids because they like mine craft and mine craft (although has in depth gaming) has terrible graphics. My oldest son said," it's not about the graphics anymore it's about the game play" so I got it for them. They love it and so does dad.
I was one of the top tournament Cyberball players back when the game was popular so I was very excited to test how true this version was as compared to the arcade version. The game was exactly how i remembered it down to the exact timing and reaction of each play. I am fairly certain it's just a direct port, but the developers did an amazing job getting four players to fit on one screen by doing a side by side split screen. I was so happy to show my sons how dad dumped $1000+ of grandpa's college fund into this game. :)
Well it has a bunch of classics. Although I will say Total carnage and Smash tv are the outstanding games from the others. Robotron is pretty epic and toobin' is hilarious. The other games well they are mediocre and fun at times. Pit fighter is exactly like the arcade so I guess its okay. Its fun to play for a few hours and if you find a copy for 13 or less get it. The multiplayer on the games is extremely more fun than playing solo so I suggest to get a buddy to play through the games.
the games are 100% authentic and play just like the arcade originals. Hours of fun and enjoyment this has a lot of all the old school titles that I used to put quarter after quarter into play. my nephews who are three years old come over and enjoy playing some of the titles. Really enjoy this game package.
