Go to YouTube and do a search for 'Midwest Can'. The company posted a video on how to properly use the spout.
It is near impossible to find out how to use it without doing research on your own and you'd probably end yo throwing the spout away. You need to push the red button in then press down hard on the spout tip to vent it, then release. Next you need to press the red button again, rest the hook located above the button on the bottom side of the gas tank opening, then put downward pressure on the spout so it retracts into itself and the vent opens.
A lot of the negative reviews revolve around struggles with this and reviewers are recommending to dump it.
I wanted them to fill my riding lawnmower. The gas tank on the Craftsman mower sits under a lip and it makes it difficult to fill. So, if you have one of those and your tank isn't sitting in the open, you will want a new nozzle.
