Pay no attention to that "Kid's Review". It is just that...a "Kid's Review". Are you going to let a "kid" tell you what game is fun? or what is not fun? I didn't think so...Might and Magic: Gates to Another World is an awesome game that does not deserve to be overlooked, especially by some kid that was born just yesterday. This is a classic! An improvement over the original Might and Magic I, and quite possibly the best version of MMII out there. Create your team of adventurers and off you are to fight monsters in the land of Cron. If you like the old Bard's Tale Games or have played Might and Magic I, then you will definitely love Might and Magic II, Gates to Another World. It is expanded, more in depth, better graphics (still 1980's mind you), but the gameplay and replayability is endless. In my honest opinion, this version of MMII is the best version of this classic RPG out there. There are few that equal it, and none that surpass it. Make no mistake, you will not be dissapointed with Might and Magic II: Gates to Another World. Quite possibly the best Sega Genesis RPG ever! I've also played the DOS and C64 versions of this game which also kick arse also! so if this is still available to purchase by the time you read this, just do yourself a favor and pick it up. You will not regret it. I already own mine. Peace. :o)

Might and Magic Gates to Another World was called Might and Magic II: Gates to Another World on just about every other system. But you don't need to play the previous game to get into this one.

You start out by creating some characters on day 1 of month 1 of the year 900. The world is open before you. From here, you must learn about the problems in the world and how to solve them.

Much of your learning will take place in the manual. The manual gives a history lesson on the world of Cron. So if you don't get a manual with this purchase, you'll want to get one from somewhere else (GOG sells this game as a PC version -- but the Sega version is far better. Nonetheless, they have a manual you can download if you buy it from them).

You'll sneak through castles, tear through the elemental planes and travel into the past with a time machine to change your present in order to save the world.

I'm not a huge fan of the ending, but the rest of the game is worth it.

This is by far my favorite Might and Magic game ever made.

Hands down one of the best western RPGs and one of the best ports of this particular iteration in the might and magic series. Well worth picking up, but I'd recommend a trip over to RPGClassics to find out some of the more basic information. This game would be very difficult to beat without a guide, but I do know somebody who did so in the course of about 50 hours with some minimal guidance.

If you want to try to beat this game without a guide, some basic familiarity w/ coded messages would be recommended.
