A brillant book

I have two copies of this book. I lent my first copy to a gentleman in his early 90's who flew bombers in WW2. He flew B-29s so he was not with the Eighth Air Force. My father flew in North Africa but not in Europe. In any case, I have read 100's of books about the air war in WW2. I have read accounts by British, U.S., German, and Japanese authors. This is a simple chronicle of the the largest air war ever fought (with the possible exception of the British bomber offense which was conducted at night during much of the same time period). There are other books that examine the strategic history in more detail but as an illustrated history of the units, bases, and missions of the Eighth, I don't think you can find a better account.
