About the Author
Jeremy Taylor was born in 1952 in Malaysia, educated in England where he was proudly expelled from one school, read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford, and took his doctorate at the Maxwell School of Citizenship, Syracuse University. He chose at that point not to pursue academics, and moved into finance. After 15 years in private sector banking, during which he published four books and numerous articles on bank finance, he finally settled down as a government financial regulator for 17 years before retiring. He lives in Falls Church, Virginia, with his partner Ann Rayburn, and regularly sees his two children, Ian and Annabel, who live in upstate New York.

The poems demonstrate the value of reflection and self awareness. A beneficial read for anyone, highly recommended,
To that end, I am honored to provide a unique perspective with respect to the author's work. Those who first meet Jeremy, may think that he is a somewhat complicated and opaque individual (for I was one of them old friend:)), just as those who may pick up this amazing collection of poetry and reflection would think these written words are similarly complicated as well. Then it just hits you right in the face!!!! Jeremy and his words are not complicated, there is more clarity, wisdom, and utility in them than we can possibly imagine. Instead we realize that it is the life and lens that we choose to hear and see them through that is often complicated and opaque.
Jeremy's words both written and spoken provide the amazing gift of providing us with that self realization: life is not, and should not be, that complicated! Just the opposite, my friendship with Jeremy, and our many hours of conversing while just sitting around the supper table or eating a hot dog at Nationals Park have opened the door to realization and understanding of "meaning" that I never thought possible. His amazing ability to traverse all the "noise" of the world we currently live in, and communicate the realization that the secret of a peaceful and full life is really more simple than we can possibly imagine is his true gift. Similarly his perspective regarding our fears and uncertainties in confronting one of the necessary steps in all our lives, our transcendence into that next stage which is our own mortality, are similarly life changing.
I have had the great gift of knowing the author personally, and the manner in which he has been able to open up new ways of self reflection, peace and understanding in my own life through his spoken words has been a gift of unimaginable value. For those who want to receive this gift as well, the opportunity is yours for the taking by immersing yourself in the words and visualizations in this wonderful compilation! Cheers Jeremy, well done!
Typically I send a card or plant upon hearing about someone's passing......now I will certainly include Migrating Through Mortality by Jeremy Taylor, for those that are grieving the loss of a loved one.
