Besides consulting for high profile clients, Mr. Meikle is an avid speaker and published writer. His contributions have appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, CNBC, Defense Technology International, CIO Magazine and American Medical News.
Both Dr. Polack and Mr. Meikle had encountered in the past many healthcare providers who were unaware or their cybersecurity, cyberbreach or regulatory risks and obligations.
This provided the impetus to create a program that would address the uncertainties surrounding cybersecurity, medical device security and cyberbreaches. Healthcare practitioners continue to have a great deal of questions on how to determine their risk of a cyberbreach. They are uncertain on how to defend and respond to a cyberbreach incident and are deeply concerned about their liability in the event of one occurring especially with federal and state healthcare regulatory responsibilities.
The eBook is based on a multi-part dialog with Dr. Polack and Mike Meikle regarding the state of healthcare practitioner security preparedness and how medical devices add yet another risk variable in an already complex mix of liabilities.
