We use a bromine/chlorine mix and keep the tub about 104-105F.
I would expect it to last longer at a cooler temperature. And probably not as long if it was exposed to sunlight regularly.
I'm in VT so the pool needs some extra help to stay warm enough to use. The cover rasied the temp a good 5-6° over no cover at all.
The last cover I bought (the same manufacturer, I think-- although it's hard to tell as the portion I received is obviously just cut from a large roll) was much more expensive than this chunk (7x8 for only about $24 bucks plus nominal shipping). The new one looks and feels exactly the same. You cut it to fit your tub size. I use it on two of the tubs we have at our B&B. What I like about these covers is how light and moveable they are. I would never use it on an outside tub (we get to -23 degrees where I live) but they are great if you have an inside hot tub. The large foam covers that came with the tub are just to unwieldy and heavy to move around inside the house.
If you are careful about how well you cut it, it seems to do a great job keeping the tub hot and limiting the amount of heat that escapes. It doesn't seem to matter if you put it on bubble side up or down.
We have ours under a hard cover in a hot tub room with windows. Living in Seattle We keep the tub 99-100 when not in use and then set it at 104 for use 3 - 4 times a week. At the 7 month mark this thing is shedding every bubble. Last night when touching it to place it back down it dropped a handful. Today we will order a different model. Maybe it is the heat we have it under but it lasted 7 months.

Photo is misleading, cover is square. It is mentioned in the description, just missed it. But beware that you will have to do some trimming. Read morePublished 6 months ago by RANDY B DUNN
Thank you for such a quick purchase. I was rather disappointed that I received a part that had a seam. I knew that it was possible, and it will still do the same job.Published 6 months ago by E. Olsen
