We use ours as extra insulation under a hard top cover. We live in the Pacific NW and keep the hot tub/spa heated year round. Saves a lot on electricity. We get about two years of use before it breaks down.
We use a bromine/chlorine mix and keep the tub about 104-105F.
I would expect it to last longer at a cooler temperature. And probably not as long if it was exposed to sunlight regularly.

I bought the spa cover to put on my 8' Intex pool. The 7'x7' cover is actually a bit over 7'x7' so I had to trim the cover into a 7' diameter circle to fit the 7' top ring of the pool.

I'm in VT so the pool needs some extra help to stay warm enough to use. The cover rasied the temp a good 5-6° over no cover at all.

I have a Hot Tub enclosure and ordered a floating hot tub cover and it works GREAT. I just lay the floating cover over the hot tub ( no cutting was needed, as I ordered it a little larger than needed )This product works GREAT as it is in an enclosure with sliding windows . NO MORE FIGHTING THAT HEAVY OLD COVER.

I bought my first cover about 4.5 years ago. It recently started to deteriorate and small bits broke off. I feel like over 4 years spent soaking in 104 degree water with frequent bromine shocking isn't too bad of a shelf-life.

The last cover I bought (the same manufacturer, I think-- although it's hard to tell as the portion I received is obviously just cut from a large roll) was much more expensive than this chunk (7x8 for only about $24 bucks plus nominal shipping). The new one looks and feels exactly the same. You cut it to fit your tub size. I use it on two of the tubs we have at our B&B. What I like about these covers is how light and moveable they are. I would never use it on an outside tub (we get to -23 degrees where I live) but they are great if you have an inside hot tub. The large foam covers that came with the tub are just to unwieldy and heavy to move around inside the house.

If you are careful about how well you cut it, it seems to do a great job keeping the tub hot and limiting the amount of heat that escapes. It doesn't seem to matter if you put it on bubble side up or down.

I wanted to love it as I paid a bit more for this one than the other one we had and this one seemed thicker and had really nice edges.
We have ours under a hard cover in a hot tub room with windows. Living in Seattle We keep the tub 99-100 when not in use and then set it at 104 for use 3 - 4 times a week. At the 7 month mark this thing is shedding every bubble. Last night when touching it to place it back down it dropped a handful. Today we will order a different model. Maybe it is the heat we have it under but it lasted 7 months.

Works very well as a insulater for our hottub/spa. I used to layers with the bubble side down...that seems to work the best. Fold it in half two times and cut after you measure for your hottub if you need a circle. This was a great option for us, and the lighting at night looks cool as well. The picture is at night with the light on. I would buy again for sure!

The blanket was easy to cut to the right size. We live in an arid desert area and the wind blows sand/dirt around a lot. This keeps the sand/dirt out of my hot tub.

I ordered the 7 by 7 for my round, in-ground 7x7 spa. The material at 15 Mil, is much thicker than my old cover (5Mil). My old cover lasted 4 years, so I expect this one will last much longer. But there is a seam in my cover, and it is not in the middle. So it looks like 2 leftover pieces got glued together. At 7x7 I would have expected no seams. Also, if you put a seam in, place it in the middle and make it minimal. This is a big seam. Finally, the edges were inconsistent. One edge had an edge that was flat and smooth (no bubbles), but the other edge had bubbles all the way to the edge. It looks like they have a giant roll of this stuff, and they seam together 2 rolls, then just pull off 7 feet and cut and ship. So I ended up with the "end-of-the-roll" piece, which should have been thrown away. Works well; looks weird.
