P.S - first swatch is benefits and second is the milani.
No idea why this has gel in the title. There's nothing about this eyeshadow that's gel like at all. Anyways! I wanted to replace my urbay decay shimmery white & saw this had some good reviews. I really didn't feel like coughing up another $19 for an urban decay eyeshadow pot. Tried a little on my hand and was super disappointed & the lack of pigmentation (but hey what do you expect for $5 right?) Decided I wanted to give the product a fair chance and try it out properly. Got my trusty primer, nyx white cream pencil and create a base on my eyelid. Then I brushed quite a lot of the bella chiffon my inner eye. Looked at it and thought "hey not bad..." Then I grabbed my Urban Decay Half Baked and used that on the rest of the eyelid. Holy moly. What a difference between a $19 eyeshadow and $5 shadow. Anyways blended the two together and finished it off with a black eyeliner. Now you must be thinking.. that's not fair. What a huge price difference. Well yes, if you're looking for something thats shimmery, this is okay. But if you want it to show up as a more light gold color you need a base. However, if you're looking for something more pigmented, save the money and apply it to the urban decay eyeshadow.
For $5 this shadow is good. You need quite a bit of other products to get it to shine but it's good. If you're looking for a diamond in the rough, this is not the shadow you're looking for.
I applied it dry using a sponge applicator. A bit of shadow must have gotten into my eyes, as they started tearing up right after.
The shadow lasted all day and did not crease.
Milani labels each Bella shadow as either satin matte, shimmer or metallic. That way you know what you're getting before you open the package.
In the package, the Espresso color appears to have a slight shimmer, but when applied, there is barely any shimmer, just a satiny coffee color. I like that the color is slightly translucent and not heavily pigmented. OTOH, if you want a more dramatic effect, you can build up additional layers of color.
At my local drugstore and direct from Milani, these shadows are sold for $4.49 each. It appears this company has rolled the postage into the purchase price, then called it "free shipping."

Love the Milani eyeshadows. I apply this over a primer when I get dressed for work early in the morning and it is still on till I take it off. Read morePublished 9 days ago by Amazon Customer
Beautiful color - easy to apply. Easy to blend away, though, so if you want the color to stay true, it's to pack on but not blend.Published 18 days ago by a fellow seer
Very disappointed. My eyeshadow came all broke up. Can't even use it. Was looking forward to using it.Published 22 days ago by Sandra
