Good light on a neglected area

Military vehicles are the unsung warriors to the more glamorized tanks and other gun-mounted artillery. Logistics is the main underlying support for modern warfare. Unless there is a regular flow of "bullets and beans", the action on the front eventually and often soon ceases. This book well describes with photos, drawings and texts the basic details for the main ffrontal support and rear area vehicles. Along with its two sister volumes, "Modern Battle Tanks and Support Vehicles" and "Fighting Vehicles: Armored Personnel Carriers and Fighting Vehicles" the reader can acquire an informed and broad overview about military vehicles recently and presently used. The only criticism is that "Military Transport" does not reach farther back into time (the 1950s) as do the other two volumes. Nevertheless, the book is well worth having. All three books are available from Amazon. The set would enhance the shelf of military equipment books.

Format: Hardcover

160 pages, covering 75 vehicles from around the world. All photos are in B/W, with a line drawing, showing a version of the truck and not the cargo version as is found in most other books of this type. Each truck is covered by a brief history and tells about the differance versions and a full specification listing.
A better referance book than most, wish there was more color photos.
