Miller and Ashlyn had an admittedly brief, but undeniably impactful history. It’s almost serendipitous that they meet again in Charleston. Miller was decisive and determined, two qualities I particularly love in alpha males, and he was an immovable force for Ashlyn to reckon with. She has moved to Charleston for a fresh start, and she is not exactly the same woman he met those months ago. What is the same, however, is the positively magnetic attraction and sizzling chemistry between them. This is a woman who has been through the wringer, though, and while she’s bound and determined to leave the woman she was back in Chicago, Miller can see the wounds and the pain lurking, and he’s unwavering in his pursuit to heal this woman and to love her.
Miller’s Time by Ahren Sanders was a heart-thumping, knee-weakening, fanning myself sexy read, and I loved every second of it. Five smooches from me!
Ahren Sanders certainly knows her way around an alpha male but this story includes a sexy, sassy woman who knows how to put him in his place.
Be sure to catch up on the series and read Pierced Hearts as well for a double dose of testosterone and the correct amount of estrogen to run the show.
This story is the perfect escape, an excellent read for the backyard or deck or any other vacation or staycation destination.
You know they say everything happens for a reason, well Miller finally finds out what that saying truly means when someone from his not so distant past comes back into his life. What was a chance meeting in a hotel bar turned into a weekend of pure bliss but when he awoke to an empty room Miller wasn't to thrilled, fast forward six months and the woman that rocked his world is rocking it again.
Ashlyn is starting over, she left her high powered career behind in Chicago along with a ton of bad memories and moves to Charleston to find the person she once was. What Ashlyn didn't plan on was running into the hot guy that she spent an amazing weekend with and has thought about constantly over the last six months, and then find out he's her contractor!
The chemistry was great between Ashlyn and Miller but what I loved the most was how Ashlyn used all the fire her red hair gave her, she was a firecracker and I totally loved when she let that side show.
This book can be read as a standalone but since Pierce and Darby play big parts in this story I would suggest reading their book, PIERCED HEARTS first. If you enjoy Contemporary Romances that have a lot of steam or the Second-Chance-at-Love Trope I would recommend this book to you.
**I have voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book for my Blog, Nadine's Obsessed with Books**
From the first chapter, hell from the second page of the first chapter, Author Ahren Sanders gripped me by the throat and threw me in the deep end. My exact reaction as I was reading? “Oh, holy sheeeeeeee......it!”
Once again, Ms Sanders was going to knock one out of the park. I could tell. It was raw and powerful, and, it had grit.
Ashlynn is our gritty heroine, a lawyer who developed a persona so tough she more than held her own while playing with the big boys. Then once the facade was stripped away, she realised it was time to change. Now, she wants to be doing something completely different.
Different was buying a rundown home that needed extensive renovations. Different was living in a new town meeting new friends, and inadvertently running into ... the man behind the face, hands and body that shook her foundations over the course of a weekend. Trouble is, different doesn’t always stay in the past.
Intrigue, betrayal, dirty tactics and threats. These threaten to derail any and all progress that Ashlynn has made. Wow, this book was a great read, and I was wholly invested from the start. I loved the first book in the series, and the second as well. Highly recommended. 5 Stars.
