I'm not even going to attempt to rehash the story for you because I don't want to give anything away. So I'm going to start with my love for Pim. Since the beginning of this series, I have talked about how strong I think Pim is and I've loved watching her growth as she rediscovers who she is through Elder. She's at her absolute strongest in Millions. She has allowed her love for Elder to fuel her need for survival, showing just how fierce she really is.
In Hundreds, we learned a bit more about Elder and what makes him tick. We get to see him battle emotions a some more in Millions and watching him embrace his feelings for Pim and fight for her is truly amazing. There won't be a moment that you doubt his love for Pim. It's absolutely breathtaking.
There was only one thing that bothered me with this book and it bothered me enough that I feel like I need to mention it. To get it off my chest. I think that the storyline alone really wrapped up Pim and Elder's story beautifully and I was very happy with the way it turned out. However, I felt that there were WAY TOO MANY prologues. I think it could have been done with two at the most, with a POV from each. I found that there were so many that I was skipping things. I don't want to skip things. I was so emotionally invested and consumed by the story that I was shocked when I found that I was doing that. So I made sure to go back and take my time. Again, I loved the story, I just thought it was drawn out for too long and could have been condensed.
Overall, I loved Millions and and the Dollar Series. Winters brings us an emotionally packed story that proves love can be found in the most unexpected places and that everyone deserves that all consuming and amazing love. If you haven't read this series yet, you are missing out. I cannot recommend it enough.
“He’d tried to rent me for pennies and buy my thoughts for millions and now he’d get my everything for free.”
This is the last book and the Dollar series and just like the rest of the series it was brilliant, mind blowing, and simply breathtaking. I’m in tears because I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to Elder and Pim.
“For an endless second, we didn’t speak. We just reacquainted that his soul was mine and mine was his and not even death could part us.”
We get to see both the soft side and warrior side of Elder and I couldn’t decide which side I like be best. I felt heartbroken for him as he continues to struggle with with the outcome of losing his family and then losing Pim on top of that. He has been fighting for so long, the battles keep coming, he doesn’t know a life without war. This time Elder isn’t running away from war. He is out for blood and no one can stop him from taking back what is his.
“I had an address. Pimlico was at that address. And I was taking war right to their doorstep.”
Pim is no longer quiet, lost or living in fear. No, now rage lives within her. She has gained so much confidence and bravery throughout this series but she truly blossoms in this book. She desperately wishes to return to Elder and takes action to make that happen.
“I was no longer afraid. Of death. Of pain. Of monsters.”
There is one problem with both their plans...his name is Q Mercer. Q is still hard, mesmerizing, deadly and sexy as ever. I absolutely love him! I also loved the role Tess played within the story. She is strong, beautiful and never disappoints me. Fans of Monsters in the Dark will definitely enjoy this book. When Q and Elder collide it is angry, violent and bloody.
“Two alpha wolves used to being top dog and not happy with a rival in their kingdom. Both prickly and hard to love. Both loyal and affectionate until the bitter end.”
Once you begin this journey you will have no choice but to be engrossed within the pages. Their love is fierce and runs deeps within each other’s veins. I couldn’t have asked for a better ending. Such an epic conclusion to an unforgettable series that I will love forever.
“I owe you more than I could ever give and if I could go back to that first meeting when you pushed a penny toward me for my thoughts, I would claim it and look into your eyes and speak boldly.”
