Dear Amazon buyers,
Make no mistake, this will work, and for more then records... really anything with a static charge (that isn't meant to be there).

Dear Milty,
For $100 friggin' dollars would it kill you to write some directions? What does it mean to you that EVERYONE has to go to youtube to learn how to use YOUR product?

P.S.

Said directions would go like this.
The Zero stat works by flooding the front of the gun with positive ions (actuated by the SLOW squeeze of the trigger), then negative ions (actuated by the SLOW release of the trigger), therefore leaving the surface of the target with a net 0 charge (neither attracting dust nor repelling). The clicking sound coming from the trigger is indicating that you are squeezing or releasing TOO FAST.
Hold the record in free space. it will not work if it is in contact with any surface.
Hold the gun 12 inches from the target. The effective range is ~16 inches from the tip of the gun. Repeat this motion 4 times. The little extra tip IS A COVER. Place it on the gun when not in use.

Wow. You've been making this thing since the 70's and it took me 3 minutes to write this. Come on.

Dubious Buyer but VERY Impressed: Proper Technique is a Must!!!

I am surprised by how great this works. My TT had static that a carbon fiber brush never got rid of. This did the trick. Speaking of tricks, there is a trick to using it! If you hear it click you are squeezing too fast. Hold the LP by the edge: aim it at 12 o' clock and squeeze/release slowly, aim it at 4 o' clock and squeeze/release slowly, aim it at 8 o' clock and squeeze/release slowly, aim it at the center and *squeeze only*, release away from the record and equipment. This is the original procedure from the instructions that shipped with this in the 70s. I was extremely dubious this would work and disappointed when I didn't see dust just drop off of things, but I was missing the point: it removes the static charge so dust is easier to wipe away, items don't attract dust as easily, and removes static pops during play back. It does all these things better than any product I have tried to date. Again, if you are hearing it make a pop, you are squeezing it too fast.

This is what your Milty may look like before a year is up. I purchased mine from Amazon on February 18, 2018. It is now December 3, 2018. The Milty is DOA. It stopped working after ten months of very limited use. Amazon wasn't going to exchange it for a new one. Good luck finding the manufacturer. I hit the blogs to find out if it could be repaired. Yes, but it's strictly DIY. With no other repair or return alternative before me, I went the DIY route. Did the repair work? For a couple of days, it did sounded like it did when I first bought it - but it did not remove the static charge. Now it's DOA. Again.
In summary, this is a great piece of plastic crap and well worth your money - if you like throwing your money away on a POS.

PS. Amazon forced me to give it a star - or I could not post this review. They should have a negative star rating. Then I would gladly give it -5 stars.

Bought this because i owned a original Zerostat in the late 70's and early 80's and i found it very useful in removing static from my vinyls. When i brought out my record collection some years ago ( because i could buy new music on vinyl again) i was using my old red Zerostat, from the original Zerostat corp., made in England, i decided to buy a Zerostat 3, because i thought (mistakenly) they had made some improvements on the design. Nope. Other than an ownership change, probably multiple ones, and of course it's made in China, Well, it's blue now if you want to call that a change and the ion- indicator is more convienient to use. Today, it stopped working. I checked on Amazon when i purchased it. Exactly 1 year ago. Interesting coincidence. Talk about planned obsolescence. LOL. I dug out my original and it works just like it did when i purchased it. I used my old one religiously for probably 7 years. So the new one is no doubt inferior in construction. My old one feels sturdier, and definitely has many more cycles built into it than the new one. I looked for another brand when i bought the new one, but really couldn't find another one that was cost effective. I'm hoping that now vinyls have become popular again that someone else will have an alternative model that is better than this one

Works great, but you gotta know how to use it!

Sort of spendy, but it works. Don't use the attachment for the end. Here's how:
1. Hold record by edge and center label with one hand. With your other hand, aim the gun at the flat side of the outer edge, about 12" (1 ft) from the record, starting at an arbitrary "12 o'clock".

2. Squeeze and release the trigger SLOWLY. You will hear a very gently bzzz. If you hear any CLICKS, you've squeezed to hard/fast. This won't work or not as well, and can break the gun.

3. Repeat the squeeze and release at the relative 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock positions.

4. Squeeze slowly aiming at the center of the label BUT DON'T RELEASE until you aim the gun AWAY from the label - sort of like the arm point move in a standard disco move.

You should feel no static on the record. This WILL NOT magically eject dust and debris from the record, but will make it much easier to remove with a gentle brushing, and will accumulate less.

I repeat it whenever I can feel static emanating from a record when putting it on or taking it off the turntable.

Static neutralizer - actually works

Originally, designed for neutralizing static on phono records. I use it for getting rid of the static cling of my burr coffee grinder - essential. Functionally, it's the same gizmo as the original "white" one of the 1980's. Positive ions on pull, negative ions on release. They claim 50,000 operations, but my white one is still going strong. I've also used it on stuff coming out of the clothes drier and even my socks. I have owned and misplaced a red one, also. I bought two of these blue ones when someone suggested that they were going out of business. For my lifestyle, this is a must have gadget.

I was extremely dubious about shelling out £60 on this little thing, but having tried literally everything else - anti static brushes, anti static record sleeves vinylclear deep cleanings a new stylus, some light voodoo - I was still hearing more clicks and pops than music on even brand new vinyl. I was left with no other option.
First thing I’d say is watch a video on how the Milty works. There are no instructions in the box - and I spent a half hour zapping records with the cap on...ahem! However once removed, the result was dramatic. And suddenly I can hear my music again.

I still don’t know where all this static came from, but at least now I am properly armed up to deal with it. If you enjoy listening to vinyl more than rice crispies, then add this to your arsenal, and use as part of your LP listening ritual - wash, brush, zap enjoy.

E' un buon prodotto che aiuta a rimuovere l'elettricità statica. Io la uso per i dischi in vinile per semplificare la rimozione della polvere mediante spazzola con setole in carbonio.
