Overall, I like this drill - my thoughts:

Pros:
Good power with the MK18 volt batteries and the lithium-ion lasts forever on a charge.
I used a high-quality self-feed bit and powered thru 2x10 ceiling joists in a few seconds.
Milwaukee improved the LED light design so that it stays on for a few seconds after you let go of the trigger. The early MK18 tools had their light go out immediately upon release of the trigger (annoying!).

Cons:
The chuck design can pinch your skin when you tighten/loosen bits (between the chuck and the housing by the light).
Trigger is very sensitive though you can lock it out by locating the forward/reverse button halfway.

Overall, the cons are very minor - good tool - Milwaukee rarely makes a bad product (even though they are located in Packer-land!).

I've found all of my Milwaukee tools to be consistently sturdy and reliable and this is no exception. The torque on this drill is obvious when you use it the first time. this has a dial clutch actuator, so you can choose any torque limit you wish - and the lowest torque setting is a good place to start with small screws! When the drill reaches the torque setting, the drill stops. This drill is well-designed and well-engineered. It is ideal for tight quarters.

The LED is bright and illuminates the workspace well. When maximum torque is achieved the LED changes to red when the drill stops. Nice feature.

The advantage of the bare tool is that you don't have to buy additional batteries and chargers. It does not come in a plastic box - which would have been a nice addition. It uses the new M-18 batteries.

Great drill. Recommended.

This replaced my $200 plus Dewalt (no battery cost) 18 v nicad 3/8 right angle drill/driver. Functionally this milwaukee drill has more torque and control for the 1/3 the price I got it for as the Dewalt tool which has a very poor chuck design. It also has more torque and control than my 1/2 inch royobi nicad driver and nearly as much torque as my MI18 milwaukee 1/4 inch diver. This is a powerful drill suitable for driving by a skilled person. For sure it has more power than my corded Dewalt 3/8 inch drill.

It has a great smooth chuck that locks more positively than any of my Dewalt Drills cordless or corded and is par with my high end milwaukee corded drills. The chuck and chuck design are the biggest plus after the Right hand drill and led. Smooth and powerful.

The drill has variable torque and speed control which makes it suitable for not only sinking fine screws but driving large wood screws into tight corners or rafter work. I used this tool in building a shed and for shelf and cabinet work for both drilling and driving and for rafter and corner work, drilling and driving when I could not get in with my drivers or drills easily . Without this tool I would not have done a professional job especially on the shelves and cabinets.

I have large hands and this tool was difficult to get used to for one hand operation. I think for women with small hands you will not like this tool or it will take some getting used to operating with two hands. That said the 'heft' of the tool when combined with the M18 batter makes it suitable for non impact driving situations.

For professionals this is a brush design so under superheavy use you might only get 1-5 years before you have to replace the brushes.

People seem to be complaining about battery compatibility. Milwaukee clearly states that the M18 tools use the lithium M18 batteries. Some of the bigger tools only use the XC ones and milwaukee clearly states that as well. I have 9 of the M18 tools and they are all great at the what they're intended to be used for. You can find batteries for much less on amazon at different times than places like Home Depot. Milwaukee now has a buy one get one free on batteries or if you buy selected tools. You can definitely save some money that way as well. I highly recommend these tools. The batteries have 5 year/ 2000 charge warranty which nobody else offers. Milwaukee makes great tools bottom line.

this drill works great!! I bought it to drill large holes to install the coax and phone lines ethernet into the walls of my 4 bdr 2 bath remodel so the damned cable guys wont be drilling holes all over my house. I drilled for a whole day, 1 inch holes or larger and this drill kept me going. I drained only one battery doing it. (barely started on my 2nd) when i was done for the day. I was also using my driver drill and skil saw, so i dont really know how long this thing would have lasted just using the right angle drill. It had plenty of power and the great thing is that its full power til the battery is toast. It doesnt get weaker as your battery gets spent.
Its a worthwhile investment.

I worked with it for maybe 3 hours, Just stopped working. Looks like it is issue with switch.
Worst thing is that I can't return it because I do not live in USA. So disappointing. I thought that Milwaukee is good brand...
I was wrong...
