It doesn't look like much, but take this little saw in hand and get to work, and you'll be as impressed as we are. First off, it's quality construction, everything from the comfortable, soft-grip handle to the same rugged, heavy-duty steel Quik-Lok clamp you'll find on Milwaukee's famous Sawzall recip saws. Blade change is as quick and easy as a twist of the thumb and index finger. The beauty of this little saw is that it will go anywhere and get into places a big, hungry recip saw can't. Just stock up on 1/2-inch tang recip saw blades and you'll be set. It's perfect for small cuts, delicate jobs and for the little tasks you don't want to haul your recip saw out for. Every homeowner and contractor ought to have one of these. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Keyhole, Schmeehole. This accessory crushes the competition. Along with the saw, I bought the milwaukee Sawzall blade set that has a multitude of blades and I've used every one of them in the 8 months that I've had the tool. It's just so easy to pull out and pop on a blade of choice and take care of a problem. For grins and giggles I threw on an aggressive blade and cut through a 2X4 fast enough to realize that I can do it if I'm away from my tools and not be slowed down. Oh, and the threading on the end of the saw that allows for an extension such as a broom handle to be attached is icing on the cake. Buy it. It's of sturdy construction, and even if you only every use it as a keyhole saw, you will have made a wise buy.

This has a much more sturdy handle then I expected. Not like other brands I've looked at. It holds the blades in place very well and it's design is comfortable to hold & use. The threaded end for attaching an extension pole looks like it may be a weak point. The plastic is a little thin and looks as if it may not take the kind of force you would apply on an extension pole, but in their defense I haven't tried to use it that way. I feel Milwaukee once again has earned their reputation for building quality hand tools. I would highly recommend it.

All the 5-start reviews listed here are true. It is a great little tool. I keep it with my Sawzal -- and it comes in really handy. A bit pricey, but if you can get it on any special or part of a package, grab it.

Since they were offering this little hand tool free with their Orbital Sawzall I figured it was probably junk. The quik-lok job saw is by no means junk. It is as well made as Milwaukee's Sawzalls and provides as much utility. The hand saw uses standard reciprocating saw blades and boasts the same tooless blade release mechanism (Quik-Lok) found on the Sawzalls. I have found the soft grip handle also very comfortable. I have used this little saw more often than I ever would have thought. Sometimes a reciprocating saw is overkill and you just want to make a small neat cut in a fragile area. This tool is often the best choice. For $20.00 you can't go wrong; obviously it won't replace your reciprocating saw but it certainly will facilitate its use.

This little gem is a delight to use. I've put a long pruning blade, Bosch RP125 12-Inch 5 TPI Wood Cutting reciprocating Saw Blades - 5 Pack on it to trim up over hanging branches. I've used Milwaukee 48-00-4784 Ice Edge TORCH Sawzall Blade 18 Teeth Per Inch 6-Inch Length as a quick hacksaw. This baby sits inside my full Sawzall box and sometimes it's a tough call which tool I pull out first. The twist lock works as well as my sawzall blade lock, which means easy.

Best is that the blades are replaceable unlike some keyhole saws. So no worries if I use it to cut roots in the dirt.

Highly recommended. No one else makes one as nice as this one.

Great quality and feel to this item - holds the blade like a vise and at a slight angle to relieve stress on the wrist. The spring-loaded locking collar is industrial design at it's best. Buy the variety pack of blades and you're all set to go. You won't be disappointed.

I've been using the Milwaukee 48-08-0401 Quik-Lok Job Saw for several months now around my new house for a variety of purposes. Chief amongst those has been cutting holes in old lath and horse hair plaster walls. With the narrow point of the included blade, I can saw holes with only a couple of small pre-drilled pilot holes and minimize the damaging to the surrounding plaster.

What makes the saw excel, however, is the versatility. Changing the blade is simple, quick, and never compromises the sturdy feel. I purchased this saw with the blade kit (Milwaukee 49-22-1129 12-Piece Ultimate Demolition Sawzall Blade Set) and I have used it to make easy and controlled cuts through, wood, metal, plaster, dry wall, rigid foam, etc. I have also since purchased the Milwaukee Sawzall which can utilize the same variety of blades, increasing the value.

The other day after a snow storm, I had to perform some emergency pruning on a tree with branches leaning against my neighbors house and blocking the drive way. I remembered the threads on the end of this job saw and attached it to an old paint roller handle. Changed the blade to a long wood cutting blade, and was able to easily prune the small/medium sized branches in the tree. Perfect example of this tool's ease of use and versatility. Never thought I'd need it for that purpose, but there you go....5 stars.

This has to be one of the best tool purchases I've recently made.

Even if you aren't familiar with brands or tools, the moment you hold this saw you'll instantly know this is a quality tool.

I purchased it with some extra blades, then went and looked for things to cut.

I cut down 3 shrubs in my yard, with approx. 10-12cm wide branches.

The saw made short work of them, and cutting a green trunk full of sap is not an easy job.

The blades are heavy duty and very sharp, they're about 1mm thick and 15mm + wide, so they don't bend or warp like cheap brands.

Even the paint hasn't come off from 3 branches, they still look new!

The blade locking mechanism is very solid and effective, you simply turn the collet anti-clockwise, insert or remove the blade and release.

It really is that simple.

The collet is made from metal and plastic, and it grips the blade extremely well, I never had any concern about the blade not being secure.

The ergonomic handle is soft-grip, comfortable and has a bit of weight to it.

At the end of the handle is a hollowed thread for screwing on a broomstick handle.

I haven't used this feature, so I can't comment on it's effectiveness or how sturdy it is.

However, considering the quality and the obvious thought that went into this tool, I see no reason to doubt this feature's performance.

In summing up, this saw is a bit expensive, but it's a quality tool that should last a long time.

It uses reciprocating saw blades (Sawzall), and replacement blades are readily available.

G'Day from Australia.
