Edit 11/1/19: Impact is still going strong, I've dropped and abused the thing and it just keeps trucking along. Best impact I've owned. Period
Pros: has plenty of power for its small size.
Will update over time
* As a automotive technician, I abuse my tools every day. So far this tool has done more than I expected. Powerful and small. The switch is still holding up well. When this dies, I will definitely purchase another just like it.
I highly recommend this for aircraft mechanics, just keep in mind that you may need to turn the torque setting down one notch in order to not over tighten screws.
This thing is in another league than the 2453 power-wise and it’s kicked ass on everything I’ve thrown at it so far. The self tapping screw setting is great for getting it started but it will usually not have enough torque to completely drive it in so my procedure is to get it about half way, then switch to “3” which has more than enough power. I use it with the XC 4.0 battery so I’m not sure how much that boosts performance but like I’ve said it’s handled everything from self-tappers to deck screws, 9/16 bolts, and even drilling into solid concrete with a carbide drill bit (which got it pretty hot but it never stopped or slowed down).
My team uses Milwaukee, DeWalt, Ryobi and Rigid tools and we’ve all been impressed by this little guy. It’s every bit as powerful as our older 18v Milwaukee (non-brushless) driver which is pretty neat. Despite being small this is a pretty hefty little tool which might be the only downside. Sure it’s light and compact but the DeWalt is definitely lighter. Still it’s no big deal considering the additional power and the ergonomics are really nice with the prominent palm swell on the grip.
This is for the tool only, no fancy box or accessories. Normally this is sold in a set so finding one by itself at your local Home Depot probably isn’t going to happen. Besides the price is fair and mine arrived in perfect condition.
I also have the 12 volt hammer drill which is also a great tool- not as powerful as the 18 volt but for it's size it's a real powerhouse.
Super satisfied with the tool though. Its very small yet powerful, its just nifty.
2mo Later Update: I use this thing daily and it is still kickin ass. Doesnt have the power to break loose bigger bolts obviously but it is very versatile because it can also be used as a screwdriver or drill. Love this thing. Have been using China batteries from day 1 and no issues.
Top international reviews
the plastic is slightly wrong when set side by side with other Milwaukee tools
the paper used for the manual is slightly wrong and the manual is slightly the wrong size when compared to the manuals for other milwaukee products.
I have not had a chance to use the tool yet so not sure how it preforms
the big problem is going to be when I need to get it fixed, Milwaukee is suposed to have a 5 year warenty, somehow I doubt that this tool will have that or be covered at all
FYI the only reason it has 1 star is I cannot give it Zero start, this item is a fake, it is not really what I ordered it actually gets ) stars
As did my 12 volt hackzall from milwaukee
This needs a redesign
Other than that its awesome
- ne pas oublier que c'est du 12 volt et que l'outil a ses limites.
