According to the size chart at Milwaukee Motorcycle, thigh size for a L is 26". We both measured around 24.5 and 25 so we sized up to the L. They were way too small. I was curious so I opened up the zippers and measured. From zipper to zipper at the top of the thigh where the zippers would meet, they measured 23". Even if you used the piece at the top that stretches it doesn't add much. Neither of us could bring the zippers together to fasten them. We returned the chaps and decided to order 2XL They arrived and they fit great. The thigh size according to the chart for the 2XL is 28". I measured them the same way as I did the L. They measure 25 1/4". I don't think the waist sizes are very accurate either. I had to adjust the waist at the back of mine to bring them in a little but they fit great sitting at the belt of my jeans. That's at my hips and my hips are definitely not 30" which is what they say the waist should be for the 2XL. They are both very long but cutting is no problem. Great quality and comfortable.
SIZE: On the "Large", the length is plenty. I might have to cut off an inch or two as they drag under my boot when walking - but pretty good. The waist size is plenty for a 33" waist. The thigh size, however, is snug. I figured (incorrectly) that I'd want a smaller thigh size as a slimmer fella. For me, I'd probably feel more comfortable in the XL or XXL range. The waist and length mean nothing to chaps, it's all about thigh size. If I were to assume, if you are a skinny guy, "Large" is where you'd start.
BUILD: Overall, they seem nice. Very sturdy zipper go from the mid calf up to the top. Four nice snaps below the calf to the ankle. Buckle in the front seems a little cheap and the tie on the back will probably wear out, but should be easy to replace. Leather is soft and seems comfortable. Mesh on the inside is nice. Seams appear to be decent - time will tell.
ACCESSORIES: Pocket is pretty unusable. I don't know what I'd put in there as it's pretty small. Comes with an extra snap, so perhaps that could go in to the pocket.
OVERALL: At first glance, not a bad pair of chaps. Don't get caught in the thinking that I wear a medium or large pair of pants, so that's what I need (like I did). I'll write more in a couple of weeks when I get back from a multi-state ride.

Use them most everyday except in warmer months (live in AZ). Snaps started to come off and have replaced them all (which is easy to do).Published 2 months ago by F & C Deacy
