About the Author

Archie Bongiovanni is a comics artist and illustrator who focuses on making work that’s gay and good. They’re the cocreator of the award-winning A Quick and Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns and the creator of Grease Bats, a serialized comic about two queer BFFs navigating dating and late-stage capitalism. Bongiovanni’s the author of History Comics: Stonewall, and their work has appeared in The New Yorker, the Nib, Vice, and Autostraddle. They live in Minneapolis.

Archie Bongiovanni is a queer cartoonist living in Minneapolis. They publish monthly comics on Autostraddle.com, and has also drawn for The Nib and Everyday Feminism. They publish a lot of work from their own printer. They also teach comic courses to high schoolers at a local library, run a huge queer book club, and work at a feminist owned sex shop. They will always eat the entire bag of Doritos in one sitting.

This book was a heartfelt, intimate peek into the lives of queer adults grappling with the chaos and responsibility of being chosen family. I could totally relate to the shifting timelines in their lives, and saw myself in their struggles and ultimately, their deep love for each other. I also appreciated the reality of how relationships ebb and flow throughout our lives, and the hints of Minneapolis peppered across the pages. A great work by a wonderful artist!

The book is pretty big and very good quality, some of the drawings I want as art around the house they are too beautiful. The story in itself is very captivating and I was able to tell apart the protagonists which usually is impossible for me! Very relatable and a lot of pretty quotes, I loved the writing so much!
