A witch who believes one of her own kind could never kill...

In a world where people believe the crimson sun is a dead witch’s head and the witch hunter who killed her stalks the night sky, a witch who ventures outside of Haven risks losing her life. Tessa is one such witch. Like many of her kind, she hopes to help the people of Leera, not harm them, and she’s on her first mission to heal an ailing man named Jeremiah. But when she crosses paths with a witch hunter, instead of avoiding him like she knows she should, she succumbs to her desires and ends up in his bed.

The local Enforcers believe a witch is behind Jeremiah’s sickness, so they call Bastian to town. He’s a young witch hunter who normally has a knack for sniffing out witches. But when he runs into the striking Tessa, she scrambles his senses. He’s inexplicably drawn to her and abandons his usually cautious nature.

As Tessa and Bastian uncover clues about Jeremiah’s illness, Tessa has to face the possibility that another witch may have had a hand in the incident. And if Bastian learns she’s a witch, he may point his finger at her. Then her head will surely roll.

About the Author

Alexa Grave loves to tell stories - it just so happens her characters occasionally take her on an unexpected ride. Most of what she writes is dark fantasy, but she enjoys her attempts at the humorous side of things. It's not odd to find romance in her fantasy as well. Alexa's life isn't filled with writing alone. In her spare time, she enjoys gaming. And she has a supportive husband just as addicted to gaming as she is. Reading and thinking up large, impossible projects to work on also top her list of fun things to do. Most importantly, she has two beautiful daughters who don't give her much spare time to do any of the above. Mind behind to mind is the first book in the Trinity Thorn serie by Alexa Grave. I have really loved this fantasy read. It was the first book of that author that I was reading and I wasn't dissapointed.

Witches leaves in a secret place call Haven. Outside of there it not safe from them cause of the Witch Hunter. Most humans hate and fear them and believe they are killers.

Tessa, a young witch is on her first mission. Like a lot of other witches she love to help people of Leera and would never ever harm them. She can't believe that a witch would kill someone.

But, of first mission is to heal Jeremiah, and a lot leads that whoever try to kill him might be a witch. She will cross path with Bastian, a witch hunter, both of them are inexplicably drawn to each other. But Tessa need to be careful if she doesn't want her head to roll if Bastian learn of her nature.

I have the second book on my kindle and can't wait to start reading it.

This is a good book, it isn't a quick read but, fortunately for those of us that have to be up at 4 am, it isn't one of those books that you can't put down. Don't be misled by that statement though, I was totally enthralled by the end of chapter 1, but able to put the book down after a few chapters when it was time to sleep. ( I did have to be strict with myself ). It was also very easy to pick back up and be immersed in the story again within seconds. It's well written story set in a well thought out world. The characters are believable and grow as the book progresses.
The blurb does a good job of telling you what the book is about without spoilers and I won't give any either, but the blurb doesn't tell you everything, the book has a few surprises along the way. Not all the characters are likeable, I found myself disliking a couple for no apparent reason, or so I thought. I think the author has a little magic of her own. This is book 1 of a series, it doesn't have a cliffhanger ending as such, but a definite feeling of "to be continued", and that's fine because I will be happy to read more. I found this author through a newsletter that I receive, the write up was good so I requested a copy of the book, I am glad that I did. I will be looking out for the next book.

I really enjoyed this book about witches and magic. This book was slightly different from the normal witch stories but still very interesting. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

I don't usually read Witch books, but this one was different and I really enjoyed it. Tessa expresses the point of view of a good witch and Bastian, the Witch-Hunter, has to recognize the witch blood within himself and how drawn he is to Tessa. Their story begin as Tessa is trying to aid Jeremiah, who hates witches, and Bastian is call to town by the Enforcers to find the witch who sicken Jeremiah. The story moves to their being forced from the town and Tessa takes Bastian to Haven, her home. There, they try to figure-out who the bad witch is and why he/she is causing these problems. The story continues and as they solve this it leaves many more questions to be answered in (hopefully) future books. Looking forward to reading more about these two. I received this as a ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest opinion.

I was given this for an ARC .. that in no way influenced my review..
