Who says true barbecue grilling was meant for the outdoors? The Minden Master Range Top Grill is the ultimate indoor grilling tool. The unique design allows for true open-flame cooking while keeping the mess of barbecuing within the grill. The Range Top Grill uses the same heavy-duty grate design, enameled steel firebox and cover as the Minden Master Grill. the grill is round in diameter and works on any standard, raised electric, gas or propane stove. The grill offers a round opening on the bottom that allows for the grill to sit over the burner to produce heat. The added heat shield helps to evenly cook the food and deflect grease that drops into a trough to prevent flair backs. As the fat drips off the meat it hits the shield and helps to evenly cook the food. The silicon handles are removable allowing the grill to be cleaned in any dishwasher or self-cleaning oven for a low maintenance approach to everyday cooking. Since the Range Top Grill mimics the performance of a real BBQ range, it is recommended it be used on a range with adequate ventilation.

My first experience was unpleasant. Once my food was cooking, for some unknown reason, I couldn't remove the lid! I searched through the instructions and couldn't find anything that indicated that this was normal for this grill. I definitely was not enjoying this grill as I was smelling my steaks burning as I struggled to remove the lid. I tried turning the lid, handling it by the knob, in an effort to break any seal that was holding the lid on. All I managed to do was to weaken and crack the enamel immediately around the knob, causing fragments of the enamel to drop onto my food. Of course, by this time, it was off the heat and I just had to muscle the lid off. Yes, it was burned.
All I could imagine was that maybe there was a temperature discrepancy between the base portion and the lid. Perhaps the base expanded upon exposure to heat , causing the cooler lid to stick. I took lots of pics and sent them to the manufacturer. They were very attentive and replaced the lid. Once I got both lids, original and the replacement, side by side, I noticed that the very bottom lip of metal that encircles the outer edge was longer on the one that stuck than on the replacement. Maybe that was the reason for defective performance.
So, I tried it again with the replacement lid and it did not stick, but another problem became evident. When the house filled up with smoke the first time it was used. I attributed it to the over cooked food due to a defective lid. However, I tried to use this grill again, the house got so smoky that the smoke alarm went off... again. Please note, I have a commercial-type gas range with a commercial level vent hood. If this heavy-duty rig can't handle the smoke, I'm not sure it is appropriate for any home. After just two uses, this got tossed and I confine all grilling to outdoors.
