I love speed reading but notice that at different times, I comprehend much more than other times. This book covers the importance of having the right mindset and devoting full attention to the task at hand, specifically learning, and offers up tips and help for actually doing that. I am looking forward to applying the insights and methods I learned from this book.

It's a bit different than the usual study tips book, because of the focus on mindfulness, as well as on some of the psychological blocks that get in the way of success... most interesting to me was the discussion on how the self gets in the way of success... that the anxiety over how we will appear to others, or around failing, can greatly impede our enjoyment in learning or in any activity that we undertake.
Great read... pick this one up!
The Mindful Way To Study is written from the heart. It's not formulaic or written in a generic voice that some authors/experts assume when they are trying to teach people about something. You can really see that the authors of this book are very enthusiastic about the subject matter and are really appreciative of the benefits of mindfulness. The bibliography is lengthy and I am glad I don't have to dig through all those books and articles myself. It's great to be able to have access to their years of experience and study in one place.
These authors respect their audience by keeping the reading experience interesting, funny and honest. It feels they are really on your side and want you to enjoy the process, it's sweet. I keep this book in a place where I can see it so I can either pick it up for encouragement/guidance or see it as a reminder that whatever I am doing, to only do that thing.
