Otherwise, the meditation instructions are easy to understand and written for a general audience. No new age or eastern philosophy interjections here! Also this type of meditation...the process of mindfully observing your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sesations differs radically from those practices purposed to deflect or reduce active thoughts. This book advocates that 10 minutes of this meditative practice every day will ultimately bring more focused attention to other aspects of your life throughout the day.
The full book is also very useful and a few things I like there are the Mindfulness exercises to be done while running/joggging and walking - I also try to incorporate those into my daily jogs/walks.
I appreciate and respect honesty like that. This is a true preview.
In closing, for this reviewer, it is also appreciated that the author breaks the discipline of meditation away from any religious affiliation and presents it as a helpful, non-sectarian exercise.
