We don't usually review many shorts but I have to say if you are looking for a quick and creepy read this is it!
Alle's hot co worker James invites her out on a date only it turns out to be the worst date ever. For some reason he takes her ghost hunting at a haunted mental asylum and also brings along his friends.
Everyone gets separated but I wont say anymore as I wouldn't want to spoil it. I've read a few books from this author before and although I've enjoyed her stories I always wanted just a little more but this one really pulled me in, kept me engaged and had me breathless at times along with the main character Alle. It was very short even for a short story but that's it's only downfall. This would make a great horror film.
I rate this 7 out of 10 Very good, would definitely recommend a long, or in this case short, soak with this one.

Puckett manages to keep the suspense level high throughout, and offers up a twist ending that will catch you totally by surprise. My only complaint about this book is that it has a few too many typos and grammatical errors—not enough to cause me to stop reading, but a bit distracting, bringing down what could be a short story worthy of Edgar Allen Poe.
This is a fun and spooky short story. There are a few creepy moments that really caught my attention. I would have enjoyed more of them, but I'm not sure much could have been added with the story being so short. A ghost is attacking poor Alle, and her terror is quite real. I felt her fear with every step as she tried to escape from the darkness, making a gruesome discovery along the way.
It ends with an "uh-oh" moment, which I enjoyed. There was room for the author to expand upon it, but it wasn't necessary. I knew what was about to happen, and it was a fitting end. The level of creepiness was kept up until the very last word, making this a perfect Halloween read.
The only thing holding me back from a full five star rating is the writing itself. This story is in dire need of a proofread. With the numerous errors corrected, this story is sure to be a hit.
This is a really creepy short story that made the hair prickle up the back of my neck as I read it. It's well written and surprising. The story is worth reading, but don't read it by yourself in a deserted hospital! Make sure all the lights are on and you're not alone, too.
Alle had no idea James would take her ghost hunting at the mental facility on their first date, she bought new shoes, did her hair and dressed for a movie, maybe. They meet a bunch of James friends at the hospital. When they got there they pared off into groups of two and began exploring all the different buildings. Alle held onto James shirt to stay together, until she turned around to see what a noise was and James was gone when she turned back around. She wasn't scared at first...enough said, you really need to download the book to read the rest. You won't be disappointed. Short story, but twist and turns you don't expect.
Unfortunately, for me, the writing itself didn't enhance that spooky feeling. For example, the first paragraph spells out the scenario in a stilted and blunt way that I had trouble entering the world of the story and the mind of the protagonist. I would have liked the "voice" of the main character reflected better in the author's writing style.
All in all, the story was best near its twist ending, when the urgency was at its peak.
