First of I'd say it feels very sturdy - gives you the feel of a well built leather daily planner (y'all probably remember those back from the 1990's). Looks very presentable - plus the leather would give the kindle added protection, if it were to fall down.
Secondly the Kindle snaps into the polyurethane casing. I tried shaking it to see if it would fall out, and I could tell it was snapped in place. Did not feel loose of flimsy.
Third when I used stand horizontally, it worked extremely well. It feels very sturdy and I no longer need to recline my Kindle on a pillow to watch a video or a movie. I could see using the vertical swivel for following a cookbook instructions. But as of right now, I'm not too impressed with the vertical stance option.
Fourth, the swivel does not have any resistance, so depending on how you are holding the kindle, it could flip around on you. But I found that if you fold the cover all the way back, like you would on a notebook, you could use the strap to lock the Kindle in place. However you have to adjust the elastic strap so that it does no obstruct the screen view - nothing major though.
Fifth, the inside lining of the cover is very soft, so I do not think it would scratch or be hard on the screen of my Kindle fire - feels almost like swede.
For the price of about $10 to $12 this is a very good item. Base on my initial reservation of the swivel, I'll give this item 4.5 stars. If I paid more than $15 on this item, I'd give it 4 stars. For more than $20 I'd look for another option on the market.
-This slim little case may not have an indefinite number of viewing angles, but those it does have are held steady.
-It is painless to change from portrait to landscape.
-When used as a stand this case does not depend on putting any screen-facing felt onto the floor.
-Deeper slots than I expected for the viewing angle/stand mode - there's plenty of padding in front of the screen when you close the case.
-No portion of the screen is covered when the case is open and inside the circle the back of the kindle is visible - everything looks clean and kindle skins would not be wasted.
-The power button is not behind lock-and-key. I did find that the rotation is not perfectly centered so I flipped the kindle and can have more of a lip around the power button, but in some luggage or a purse it may still be accidentally bumped.
-No pocket, but nearly every pocket I've seen on a case faces the screen so that you would not want to use it for more than receipts.
-When holding the kindle in landscape without the case hanging, a spare finger is often needed to keep the case open. If you read newspapers much you probably won't even notice.
In my opinion the cons here are less design flaws and more choices that have to be made between features and simplicity. The only missing, simple feature that another reviewer listed is having catch-points or notches on the rotation, but I prefer a smooth, predictable spin in the place of a rough wheel which wants me to conform into stopping at one place or another.

I love the look and functionality of this case. For the price it's truly a steal. The only reason I rated it 4 stars is because it does slip out of the groves when not positioned... Read morePublished on February 11, 2014 by Art

I have several kindles and cases and this is not my favorite case. When open it will spin and flop making it more apt to be dropped! When closed it does protect your kindle well.Published on June 28, 2013 by P. Rich
Provides the protection and met my expectations. Rotation feature works okay. Price was good for quality of product.
Stands up horizontally okay, but not vertically.

when using upright the product does not stand and that was the reason I got it. It does well vertically. If you want it to stand upright I would nto recommend it.Published on February 7, 2013 by Denise
Keeps it protected, but is a bit bulky when using it. I find it hard to hold on to when the case is folded backPublished on January 30, 2013 by Carol Bennett
