Is this book going to help you lose weight? Possibly, but not by having you follow his plan (he adamantly tells you not to!) BUT it may encourage me to think about different small changes I could make to become healthier. And, his writing style is never bossy, threatening, or condescending (as so many other diet books can be). Honestly, he seems like that great friend you get to catch up with every once in a while... Enjoyable read!
Andy did have recommendations and he did lose some weight, but I think the most beneficial idea in this book is the attempt to try 10 different diets. Most diets become boring after a time and the dieter develops a strong desire for the foods he is foregoing. But using ten different diets, each about a week, that effect is bypassed. I was amused with the cabbage diet. Andy didn't care for it, but it's something I've been exposed to most of my life. First of all, my parents often had sauerkraut dishes so in later life I enjoyed kimchi soups with hot peppers. Also, my mother-in-law is full blooded Bulgarian so my wife often prepared cabbage stew that was usually clear with cabbage and something like carrots or beans in it. She calls it peasant stew and I look forward to it, especially on cold days.
So, I can give Andy a four star rating, maybe 4.5! Thanks for sharing this.
1 star reviews. A 1 star review basically says that the book is worthless. I don't consider the book worthless.
The author did our homework for us
by trying popular diets and reporting back on the results and how he felt on the diets and
how much weight he lost and would he do it again. I find that very useful and was a great
book idea. I highly recommend this book.
The reviewer is the author of the new Kindle book entitled: Sex Education For Adults
Secrets to Amazing Sex and Happily Ever After Too
Not sure why some did not find the writing compelling. I rather liked the author's style. Maybe I am just easily entertained, but I am glad I opted to read this book. I am always reluctant to give four stars, but since I did enjoy it, that is what he gets.
