Editorial Reviews

Ministry of Sound brings you the latest buzz genre to emerge from the underground club scene. Over the last couple of years Dubstep has risen to prominence with mass exposure across national radio, being championed by the likes of Annie Mac & Zane Lowe on Radio 1 as well as massive club nights surfacing all over the world. Having been the first to bring out a collection of Bassline as it hit it's peak, with both albums having combined sales of over ¼ million copies, the Sound of Dubstep is now the freshest sound in dance music and makes this an essential purchase for all people that like their raw bass. Following on from the epic Skream remix of La Roux's 'In for the Kill', a dubstep remix is a now standard for all the major music labels. Dubstep artists consistently appear at the sell out under 18's events 'Under the Radar' as well as prominently featuring at major festivals up and down the country. The Sound of Dubstep is the first TV album to bring together all the biggest tunes, allowing you to experience the low bass frequencies bought to you by the pioneers of the scene including Skream, Benga, Caspa, Rusko & Doorly. With massive remixes of the Prodigy, MJ Cole, Dizzee Rascal, Calvin Harris and loads more. This is the ultimate collection of over 40 classic and exclusive heavy hitting tracks that is destined cause some serious damage!

Sure, yeah it's expensive. I get it. But I've never EVER bought a compilation CD with as much good music as this sucker.
In the end, what matters is that it had FORTY-FOUR of some of the best dubstep mixes I've ever heard. You will be constantly fighting the urge to skip back and repeat songs. Man, it's going to take me FOREVER just to stop obsessing about the first 7 songs so I can really get to the rest!

I am a bit new to dubstep and wanted some greater exposure. I really enjoy Skrillex and this introduced me to a lot of other creators of the Dubstep genre. Ultimately I prefer listening to Skrillex than to this CD, but I still play it from time to time.

44 solid dubstep tracks for the price of one album is a pretty sweet deal. The are a wide range of dubstep and EDM styles represented in this collection, there's a little something for everyone on here. If you're new to dubstep, the rave scene, or electronic dance music in general, I recommend this CD as a great place to start getting acquainted with the music. Just a side note, all the songs on this album are blended, that is they transition from one track to the next seamlessly. Just like the music you'd hear at a live show! So not all the songs are in their most original form. I bought the album to have a large library to mix and sample songs from, so this is really a minor complaint I have. But really, the beats are solid and you'll be listening to this all night long.

It was a present for my little brother. he said he "liked" the product but was not extremely happy. Biggest reason why this product recieved 3 stars is due to the fact that it took 2 weeks to ship.

5 stars, really? i trusted you guys.

a bunch of the stuff on here isn't even dubstep! let's see... there's breakbeat, 2-step, & what seems to be just R&B w/ bass. but, that's not the problem.

what sucks are the wincingly bad tracks that i have to totally skip. there's plenty of cheesy rifts & vocals (happy hardcore glow stick waving and/or 'dance' type) which i can take but still, must roll up windows of car.

also irritating is that only disk 2 plays in my car CD player.

don't get me wrong, there are some awesome tracks, but overall... this isn't a 5 star album. more like 3.5.

This cd is great. When I first received it, it is the only thing I wanted to listen to for months. Even my coworkers who are unfamiliar with dubstep love this cd. Great comp!
