I wear a size 6, and the 6 fit me well. They were a little tight in the toe and loose in the heel when I first got them, but the sheepskin has stretched out and gotten matted down in all the right places, so they fit perfectly on me now. Sometimes they even seem a little loose. The suede ties actually work, so I highly recommend making them tight when you first get them to make them stay on your feet. My only complaint is that the heel seems a little low, so it's uncomfortable at first and the heel can't stay on if you don't tighten the laces. I also find that the heel tends to pull my socks off, but it's fine if the socks are higher cut or have a silicon pad in the back. There's also a weirdly placed tag when you get them, but that can be cut off with some care.
I wear these slippers every day around my dorm. I bought the hardsole because I was worried about wearing a softsole slipper into the bathroom. Despite being a hardsole, it's really soft and flexible, so you don't feel like you're wearing shoes. On the other hand, they're too soft to really be worn as shoes, as is the trend on college campuses right now. Even after just wearing them around my dorm, the treads have started wearing off. I think with regular walking on sidewalks, the soles would wear out pretty quickly. They should be alright for quick trips here and there.
The sheepskin is soft and warm. I'm really sensitive to wool, but these don't bother me. They also don't make my feet sweat, so I sometimes wear them without socks. I think these slippers would be great to wear all year round. The wool has matted down a bit with wear, but it's still soft. I'm not sure I will repurchase these; I think for the price, I would like to try other slippers with a softer wool lining, like the ones by LL Bean. Nonetheless, I really love these and will continue to wear them until it's time for them to be replaced. I'm very pleased with the purchase and I highly recommend these.
That said, if you have 7.5 feet but they're wide and you sometimes go with 8 when you get heels or boots, go with the 8. But if your feet are more narrow, I would go with the 7 because they are a bit long.
I wear them outside all the time because they're so warm and the sole is pretty solid. The pile is also authentic so it's very cozy compared to something made with faux fur. For some reason the description says its faux, but it's not.
