The protagonist, Dyllan, is a refreshingly spunky and independent young woman.
At the start of the story Dyllan is already in a relationship with Nick, the sweet guy from the right side of the tracks. However, then Dyllan is introduced to Jace, the hot as hell bad boy who she just knows is gonna be bad for her but can't help herself! And who can blame her? Jace is strong, a little damaged but endearing because of it. He's protective and romantic, and loves the very ones of Dyllan.
Their love story is heartbreaking as Jace's own sad story is unraveled, damaging their lives and their relationship. There's a twist that is skill fully woven into the tail I did not see coming. I won't spoil it but it's a good one! Sending their beautiful love into a tailspin.
I was championing their relationship from the start. It's a tale of love, jealousy, angst and heartbreak!
Their love is all consuming and external influences mean they must fight for it every step of the way! For me as a reader, this had me on the edge of my seat, and not to spoil the story, the end is satisfying *expel that held breath* swoon!
There were times I was struggling to swallow down the emotions this book arose in me.
All in all, A Minor Happy Ending is, without a shadow of a doubt, a 5 STAR read!
I would recommend this book to all readers with a preference for a gritty, enthralling and real love story!
When her daughter finally decides to tell her mum what the fight was over, it takes Dyllan back to her own teenage years, and how a lie destroyed the only love she had ever known.
This is Dyllan and jace’s story.
The attraction between the two of them is instant and mutual, the only problem is Dyllan has a boyfriend, Nick.
She doesn’t want to hurt him, but she knows she doesn’t love him.
After a night out, and one too many drinks, and before things can go any further with Jace, Dyllan knows she has to face Nick and tell him the truth, but when she turns up at his place to find him in bed with one of her good friends, it saves her the heartbreaking conversation.
The only person she knows she can turn to for comfort is Jace.
As their relationship blossoms we see the controlling side of Jace, but Dyllan takes comfort in knowing that he will always be there to protect her. But he’s hiding a pretty big secret, and once Dyllan finds out the truth, they both have to find out a way for them to be together, even if it’s illegally.
In this fast paced novel, Shaan takes us in a journey of love and heartbreak. A quick read that will not disappoint the romantics in all of us.
Admittedly, most people don't take the route Dyllan takes but she will tell you all about it. Look forward to the details and the promises of other stories to come.

I was given a free copy of this cute book for an honest review, and I will say its a must read!
I for one have not read this type of twist to a romance novel. Not everything is always what it seems and sometimes our biggest challenges in life are there to show us that we can overcome them and move past them. Most books are one era based starting from the beginning and finish at the end. This author started in the middle (present day) with overhearing her daughter and boyfriend arguen, then take us to the beginning of her own story (years earlier) I loved how she wrote this and I'm hoping that there will be another book soon.
Life isn’t always full of happy endings. Each of us make choices and do things based on that moment in time. But we each have to pay our due and deal with the ramifications. This book doesn’t disappoint and it proves that love isn’t always perfect and you can’t plan on it. But it is what you make of the journey that will lead you to the happy ending.
