Miracle Casters are large chair casters that offer several advantages over regular chair casters. Miracle Casters use wheels that are nearly 4 inches in diameter. That's twice the diameter of the cheap casters supplied on most office chairs! Because of their larger size, Miracle Casters roll easily over thick carpet and can also be used on tile. Think of the huge wheels on tractors and other heavy equipment. Miracle Casters work on the same principle. The bigger the wheel, the easier it will roll over a soft or uneven surface. Each caster is rated to carry 130 pounds, which means that a set of five will hold a static load of 650 pounds. However, for best results, we do not recommend Miracle Casters for individuals over 300 pounds. When used on carpet, each Miracle Caster is guaranteed against failure for 10 years. Miracle Casters fit many office chairs. PLEASE MEASURE YOUR CURRENT CASTER STEM TO MAKE SURE THE DIAMETER IS 7/16-INCH. A ruler, 7/16" wrench or 7/16" drill bit can be helpful when checking your stem diameter. The length of Miracle Caster stems is 7/8-inch. To avoid chair damage, your current caster stem should be between 7/8-inch and 1.25-inch in length. See photos for complete dimensions. Here's what people are saying: * Received your casters and they seem to be working great. I can move on the rug! - Eilleen H., Harrisburg, PA. * Wanted to let you know that I put the casters on my (Henry Miller) Aeron chair, and omigod they are awesome!!! - Richard H., Los Angeles, CA * Goodbye ugly plastic mat! Your casters went on an Aeron chair, and actually improved an already-excellent product. I've got a pretty bad neurological condition, which causes major pain; the Aeron has helped that, and your casters are little 'miracles' too, making a good product better. I've successfully ordered goods from the Internet for many years, but this is the first time I've felt I should write a company with my compliments. Keep up the good work! Many blessings. - Michael, GA.

These casters pretty much solved every problem I had. Yeh, they look a little crazy. But they roll over anything and they add height to the Aeron so it doesn't snag or mare chair mats.
They are a little pricey, but I think they are worth it.
These are a godsend to my knees since they have raised my seat to a proper height. Easy to install and sturdy, believe me! I would highly recommend these to anyone who needs that little extra height for their office chair.
I do still use a mat but that's more for catching spills and keeping the constant use from wearing the pad and carpet and also top keep it clean.
They initially look kind of odd because they're so HUGE compared to the original wheels but now the originals look far too small.
So there I was, sitting in my new chair; I thought this is great!....and then "BAM", I fall to the floor (afer an hour of sitting), these casters put signifacant strain on the chair base, and the plastic base broke, and I fell to the floor. So, I ordered a aluminum base, and reinstalled (with a hammer and block of wood), problem solved.
In summary, don't install these on a plastic chair base, especially if it is a 25inch base. The fit is tight, and it might require some persuasion with a mallet or hammer, grease helps too. Price is extremly steep, but, I searched and could not find anyother 4inch casters, only 3inch versions.
I would not buy again, but overall, it accomplished the task of rasing the chair height.
No downside so far - I guess it'll take a while to determine how durable they are, but so far, so great... Oh, for the first couple of minutes they looked pretty huge. Then I got used to them and now all smaller casters just look uncivilized... ;)
1. These wheels helped but, in my case did not solve the rolling on a rug problem. Rolling is easier but not easy as implied by the product description. In my case it helped enough.
2. The snap rings that are on the stem prevented me from inserting the wheels on my chair. I had to remove them (not easy), and then they fit snuggly. They do not fall off if I raise the chair, so the snap ring, for my chair, were not necessary.
3. The sellers description does not say that the wheels will raise your chair by about 4 inches. Although it is obvious, I did not think of it and was surprised. If raising the lowest height of your chair by 2 inches will be a problem (it might be if you are very short or tall) check this out.
