The insights alone for anyone dreaming of someday restoring their own antique home are well worth purchasing this book. And the SAGA - - - - it's like an epic movie about a house instead of a cause or a country. I've read BOTH of Mary Knapp's books regarding the Merchant's House Museum several times and get all caught up again each time I re-read them. There is so much detail and info that repeat readings are a must. Her writing style is thoroughly enjoyable and these books - buy them both as companions - are perfect as gifts, as well as information-gathering works.
This book is SO WORTH IT!
