First, an admission ... I had no idea was TRRS meant until I looked it up. So, if you are wondering the same, it has to do with the design on the 3.5 mm jack and stands for: Tip, Ring, Ring, Sleeve. It is related to the conductors in a jack and in this case, there are four. There's also TS (two), and TRS (three). Beyond that, that technical stuff is a bit over my head. All I know is this microphone works incredibly well.
I do a lot of recording with my iPhone in various environments and I'm impressed with this microphone's ability to improve the audio quality, not only up close, but also from across the room.
I wish I would have owned this microphone and had it with me at the last fair I went to. Someone was giving me information I wanted to record but the overall environment was so noisy (both loud and busy) that it drastically impacted the audio quality in a negative way. Had I been able to use this microphone, the other sounds in the environment would have been a non-issue (or at least had minimal impact.)
The extra-long cord is a feature I greatly appreciate. I can now hold my phone and simply hand the other person the mic, or place it on the table near them, while still being able to maintain possession of my phone. I may be a bit on the paranoid side, but in busy environments I'm always a tad concerned about a "snatch and run" scenario occurring when my phone is sitting out in the open while recording.
This Miracle Sound microphone came with a good quality soft carry pouch to keep it protected while not in use or while on-the-go. And this microphone couldn't be easier to use. Truly plug-n-play, even mid-recording, as you'll be able to hear with the sample video I've provided.
I am incredibly pleased with this purchase all the way around. Absolutely no question it is worthy of a 5-star rating.
Sidenote: Currently, I own a personal recorder in which the input for mics & other inputs to recording isn't working properly for some reason or another. One thing's for sure, & that is whether the issue is repaired or replaced altogether with my Recorder, I know for a fact that the Miracle Sound Lav Mic will help make recordings that much better. I already know this will help with direct lav mic plug-ins for Video Cameras especially after the impressive sound that was given through my cellphone.
P.S. It's also a surefire thing to have a mini wind sock for lav mics as it pertains to recordings under windy conditions.
Great product. Great construction. For use with practically anything (Cellphones, Recorders, Video Cameras etc..). I'll definitely be ordering more in the future.
If this sounds like some pre-packaged response, guess again! If a product is that good, it sells itself. Meaning that its quality sells the product & THAT'S a review you can't buy!
Thank You Miracle Sound for making such a dependable product. Your heart & soul is in the quality you provide.
--Plug & Play
--Excellent sound quality when used with RecForge 2
You'll be able to unlock the full potential of this microphone by disabling automatic gain. The cord is long enough to put your phone in your pocket and run the wire to your shirt. I had a fan running in the background too.
To use this microphone as part of your video setup, record your audio through the phone and your video which ever way you want. In RecForge 2, after stopping the recording, click "share" and share it to whatever you use as a cloud (I use Dropbox). Head to your computer, plug in your video camera, drag and drop both video from the camera and audio that was on your cloud into your video editing program, sync the two, and you're done!
I got no discount for this review, it's just so worth it that I had to make a video review of it.
