Have you ever wondered whether your faith and courage would sustain you in the midst of a terrible crisis? The fifty people in this book came face-to-face with that question in ways that are hard to even imagine.
Accidents, illness, the deaths of loved ones these are the things that haunt us. The people in this book share their trials not for the sake of our entertainment, but to assure us that we need not worry. They have discovered that our lives are in the hands of God, and that he provides the grace to face whatever life hands us.

This is the first book of the “Miracles & Moments of Grace” series that I have read, though I intend to read the others fairly soon. It is quite reminiscent of the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series. I was moved to tears by several of the stories and inspired how many of the authors not only survived and then went on to thrive afterwards. All I can say is that God moves in mysterious ways.
I love stories of survival, especially those that show God as our rescuer. I can’t begin to describe how many times He has rescued me. Ironically enough, a short story by yours truly entitled, “A Shot in the Dark,” is featured in this book. I am very proud that my story was included and thank the author for selecting it.
It didn't take long for me to discover "The Terror of Loss", the story of a special needs teacher handling a crisis with one of her students. That is a survival story I can really relate to, as an educator! When I read "Alone and Stranded", the story of a young mother stuck at a bus terminal waiting to hear from her husband, I was thankful for my cell phone! "A Desperate Cry" told the story of yet another amazing way God provides - with goat's milk of all things! (Sorry, you will have to read this for yourself to understand.)
Somehow, all the stories fit perfectly with the survival theme. I think you will enjoy Nancy's latest bag of treats as much as I did!
Told in first person, each miracle or moment of grace is only 3 to 4 pages long. You’ll quickly find that you’re reading “just one more” because you can’t put the book down…you are compelled to read on. I was also pleasantly surprised to find the book even contained a story submitted by a man I’ve known for a number of years – a fellow congregant. Since stories were submitted from all over the United States, you may discover someone you know had a story to share with Mrs. Kennedy and the rest of us.
Some of the accounts are encouraging, some uplifting, and a few, heartbreaking. Because they’re true stories, not every one of them has a fairytale ending. But all of them point to God - His guidance, comfort, and redemption of even the darkest of circumstances. They also showcase the power of abiding faith and courage, challenging the reader to trust Him who is faithful in all things.
An added bonus of the book is the writer bio at the end of each feature, many of which contain blog or web addresses to visit so you can read more about the authors of each installment.
For inspiring stories that will humble your heart and stir your soul, pick up your copy of “Miracles & Moments of Grace – INSPIRING STORIES OF SURVIVAL”. It’s available in paperback, Nook and Kindle editions. When you do, check out the other titles in the Miracles and Moments of Grace series: Inspiring Stories From Military Chaplains, Inspiring Stories From Doctors, and Inspiring Stories From Moms, all authored by Ms. Kennedy and published by Leafwood Publishers.
