Fleetwood Mac's streak of five consecutive multi-platinum albums began in the 70's and continued in 1982 with MIRAGE. During the summer of 1982, MIRAGE topped the album chart and added to the band's already impressive canon of hits.
Available on July 29, this new 2CD edition expands on the original album with newly remastered sound, a second disc with 19 tracks dedicated entirely to outtakes and rarities, as well as the stories and pictures behind the album.
Among the unreleased gems are early versions of several album tracks along with outtakes for songs that didn t make it to the album. There is also an unreleased cover of the Fats Domino classic Blue Monday, as well as the rare, extended mix for Gypsy that was used in the music video.

The sound quality on every included piece is the audio we've coveted since we learned that transferring from lp to cd back in the dark ages wasn't always up to muster. Now I'm no audio expert so i can't break down the pros/cons or flaws that audiophiles might be more knowledgeable of. You'll just have to take my word that the crispness and clarity of the Mirage album itself on lp or vinyl is worth the purchase.
BUT THEN......then there is the additional stuff. The live show is great. I'm slightly pouty we weren't given a cleaned up DVD of this amazeball show but....audio is superb.
The real belle of this ball is the demo disc. There isn't one track on here that doesn't deserve a one week study course. Stand outs for me are Hold Me and If You Were My Love. I'm a devoted fan so Fleetwood Mac can do no wrong. If i continue on this'll just turn into a bloated love letter instead of a helpful review. If you've any love for Mirage then or now, this is a must have. If you're only versed in the nostalgia of Rumours and the hip go-to experimental Tusk, then Mirage might leave you in the desert of early 80s pop music. Frankly for me, there's no place I'd rather be.
Just updating. The item price was reduced today (the release date) from $85.49 to $78.84, about $7. I checked my credit card bill, and I paid $58.38 for it from amazon.co.uk. After all taxes and including shipping from overseas, I still saved $25.19 or just over 30%. When I receive it, I will add a comment about playing it, but I'm already certain that it will work fine just like the 'Rumours' and 'Tusk' sets did. As of now, the price came down again, but it's still about $21 cheaper on the UK site. Hope this helps you all!
2nd update: all the discs play, just like I knew they would! No issues at all! Buy smart, folks. Pay less!
