About Miri Flower
I am Miriam Abigail Flower,
a homeschooling mother of three.
I started writing books with my amazing husband Anthony when our first child Emily had trouble falling asleep at night, but since then our stories have been enjoyed not only by our other children but by many little ones around the world.
I believe in gentle & peaceful parenting, reading stories together and going on adventures.
I am also the author of the blog http://www.herewearetogether.com and love sharing tutorials and kids crafts with my readers.

Blog postThursdays are for adventuring, for meeting friends and animals, and for swimming and splashing in ponds. They are also for giggling until your tummy hurts, for picnics, for waving at trains, and for saying hello to giant jellyfish. Life is … Continue reading →

Blog postWednesday is Family Project Day. We have been doing a lot of weaving lately, on a few different looms, trying out yarn, wool roving and scraps of fabric. At the moment we are working on a little rug made from … Continue reading →

Blog postWe are very gently easing back into a weekly rhythm.
The last few months have been somewhat uncertain, and at some point we were even preparing to move to a different house. We decided against it because of the school opportunity for George.
It feels good to return to what is our normal, a slow, quiet life filled with stories and crafts.
This new weekly rhythm is still very simple, there is not too much each day as we return to living purposefully.

Blog postRight from the very beginning we knew we wanted to home educate our little people. There was never a moment where we thought we might not be the best people for the job. Until now. Until George. In the last … Continue reading →

Blog postGeorge’s lovely paediatric consultant told us the results of his genetic testing on Friday. There are no real answers, just a lot more questions. As of right now our Boo remains without an official diagnosis beyond a severe learning disability, … Continue reading →

Blog postWith a busy week ahead, including finding out the results of Georgie’s genetic testing, we took the weekend to spend time with friends and explore the forest.
This next week will be tricky, I think, but I’m very much hoping to let you all know about George as soon as we can!
I’m sorry for being so quiet in this space. If you do happen to miss us terribly, there is a fun new Science Video and also a really cute Learn With Leela video, too. Do check them out, Emily is so awesome!6 years ago Read more -
Blog postGeorge is not letting us do much work at the moment.
We have been looking on the bright side and enjoying the time to be tourists in our own little corner of the world, and so, after this week’s Yoga and Mindfullness class we went down to the harbour and explored a little local museum.
It hasn’t been easy with George and we are hoping to see his lovely consultant soon and talk about some of the changes in our little dude, but for now we just try to remember that sometimes those6 years ago Read more -
Blog postThings have been tricky with our beautiful Boo. These days he mostly wants to go out, go on adventures. He would very much like to do that naked, so a lot of our days are either spent out, or convincing him that clothes really are a good idea.
It has been somewhat difficult getting all our school things done, and we needed a solution.
We got these super fantastic customised backpacks for Emily (Leela) and Caillou.

Blog postPoor Cai has tonsillitis and George has an awful ear infection. He has been very cross and in need of distraction, and if I’m entirely honest, so have I. We decided to leave schoolwork behind and spend a few days … Continue reading →

Blog postEmily and Caillou LOVE watching SciShow for their screen time. They adore Hank and all the others.
So, here’s the thing; the other day, after watching one of the episodes, Emily said to us : “I want to have my own science show and do experiments and such! That’s what I want my job to be! You always tell me to work towards my dreams and take chances, so let’s do this!”
Well, you can’t argue with that!
