Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Their second full-length is a journey through a unique amalgamation of electronic explorations, improvised jamming, and various sonic experiments.

Review

"Psychic Ills have that dance band by accident thing going for them in a big way. Everything about them is bewitching, evacuating, an unlikely future-primitive grind" --Village Voice

"This NYC quartet set their stall somewhere between oceanic guitar abstraction and the brittle crunch of psychedelic guitar work, feeding their extended chugging jams through a thick fog of fuzz" --The Wire

if you like Wooden Shjips, Black Angels, and drone psychedelia i doubt you will regret buying this. it is rhythm-based and repetitive, but it has a nice trance-inducing sound and it doesn't wear thin with repeated play. it doesn't have very strong melodies in general and there's some filler toward the end, but overall its quite good. if you like this album you should also check out Daughters of the Sun.

Awesome textures wash over and totally erode songs. Everything drifts and shimmers, once in a while a vocal or recognizable instrument will surface only to blur back into the pulse of the environment. More akin to Early Violence than Dins, this record seeps into the room and mind of the listener becoming one with the ambiance of the day. Deep, deep psych music here.

Mirror Eye is a experimental journey into trance. The music is organic and hints of world beats souround the music. Very good!!

This "record" may possibly be the worst ever recorded. There is no evidence of deft hand or artistic pursuit, let alone realization. I can't stress to you enough how awful this garbage is. I would like to buy everyone in the "band" a guitar lesson. Do not purchase. Do not even listen.
