I love this game. Very atmospheric. You have to like these type of games to fully appreciate it. It's a parkour running game centered around a story of a dystopian society and control. The game is sort of like a puzzle where you must figure out where to run and climb up. I think the visuals are dreamy and beautiful. I don't to spoil too much about the story. The living spaces in the game are creatively designed. I love the loft where Noah has his headquarters. I wish I lived there... just not in the dystopia.

Despite what everyone else seems to say, I enjoyed the transition to open-world, building familiarity with the environment and unlocking new pathways through gear acquisitions kept things interesting and exciting when traversing the city.

The only downside is that in the early progression of the upgrade system, you're denied some very basic maneuvers that just don't make sense to start without, such as the safety roll. It doesn't take long to unlock these however, so it's not absolutely hampering to the gameplay.

The original was 5. This having more open world is close. The graphics are sharper, controls tighter, but the original had more tense moments in my personal opinion. Don’t get me wrong, this is a solid sequel and if you prefer a more open world environment than you might enjoy this over the original. Really, it is a fun parkour game mixed with a story line that requires a low limited attack actions.

I was really excited for this game. The first Mirror's Edge was amazing probably because it was something new and fresh at the time. This game feels as though ea wasn't expecting to make this and as if they didn't know the formula that made the first game so eciting. The original Mirro's edge was a breath of fresh air. Lets start with the negatives. The story doesn't pull me in. The character development is dull but so was the first. I feel they improved upon it but not enough.There are times when I am locked in an area and unable to escape but forced to fight. THIS ISN'T A FIGHTING GAME! I should be given the option to run or at least if I am to fight set it up so I can flow easily and keep momentum hitting enemy after enemy in an open environment. The story was also somewhat short but definitely not near as short as the first game. To make this worse there isn't much to do after you beat the main story. You can do "dash's", which are just time trials, and create your own but that can only be so interesting for so long. This game isn't all bad though. This is a movement based game after all and they nailed that down. The feeling of running on walls and swinging across roofs is amazing. Even the combat is fluid in open areas and when your not locked in a room. Honestly I would wait for the price to drop down near $30. The game hasn't been out for 2 weeks and is already down to $40 so you might not have to wait long. This game was alright, but what made it worse was probably the hype. It's a decent game but people's expectations were too high and that's too bad.

Big fan of the first game. Still has some of the magic, but switching to an open world actually seemed to hurt the game. The levels are even more stylistic, less real feeling, and the routes less polished. Also, the police stopped carrying guns, so no more stealing someone's shotgun, shooting up his posse, then escaping down a zip line. There are rpg elements that feel a little forced, and a bunch of uninteresting time trial and "hit the checkpoints" side missions. Play the first one if you're interested in this game but haven't played the first yet.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst has been a blast to play, but definitely has its lows. Pure gameplay, such as free running and fighting enemies, is fantastic and feels so much more refined than the first game. Fighting mechanics have been completely reworked, and it is now much easier to chain running and fighting techniques. The open world map is pretty large, and consists of four unique districts. Graphics are beautiful, although the city feels a bit too clustered and messy, but I suppose that's the price for free roam. Story-wise, it's alright at most. Dozens of new and seemingly useless characters have been thrown in, which I feel really deviates from the minimalism of the first game. Story missions are definitely a lot of fun and offer indoors environments that aren't accessible through free roam. Side missions in this game are the bane of my existence, many of them feel as if they've been added at the last minute without much thought, and they tend to be boring "fetch" missions. Overall, I'd recommend it if you liked the first game.

The game is pretty good. Controls are decent but take a little getting used to.
Fighting is pretty generic, similar to Batman if you like that style.
Graphics are ok also.
They've added some new elements to this version since the first game that make it more enjoyable.
You now have side missions and challenges you can do which let you explore more rather than following the story directly through.
Overall, it's worth the price at this time now that it has been reduced.

Questo reboot del primo Mirror's Edge mi è molto piaciuto, anche se ho giocato (e finito) il capitolo originale. E' vero che adesso Glass (la città immaginaria dove il gioco si svolge) sembra più asettica e spersonalizzata, ma la classe dei quartieri alti della stessa e le sue architetture molto raffinate non vi faranno rimpiangere il vecchio stile. il fattore determinante e che mi ha dato un profondo senso di libertà è che adesso il gioco è free roaming, non a schemi come il precedente. Eè vero che alcune aree si sbloccano con la storia perchè vi vengono donati degli equipaggiamenti per poter fare determinate azioni fondamentali, ma anche così il senso di libertà rimane. C'è anche l'alternanza notte-giorno che conferisce un senso di realismo in più. Consigliatissimo.

L'ho acquistato a un prezzo discretamente conveniente, ma rispetto la versione precedente non c'è stato alcun salto di qualità a parte quello fisiologico dovuto alla differenza tra la Ps3 e la Ps4, ma neanche tanto clamoroso. Per chi ha voglia di saltare ancora gli ostacoli dui tetti va bene, per chi si aspetta (come me) un'evoluzione significativa del gioco, meglio guardare altrove.

Recomiendo el juego para quienes lograron encontrarle lo divertido al 1, pero no necesariamente por las mismas razones. El juego pierde algunas cosas al ser en mundo abierto, pero tambien gana otras. Por ejemplo, es muy padre idear tus rutas, y que tengas muchas mas alternativas, pero a la vez desorienta y es mas probable que caigas al vacio al andar por la ciudad. Algunas de las sub-misiones de ir de un punto a otro en el mapa en cierto tiempo son muy frustrantes por la cantidad de opciones, y si escoges una equivocada que resulta en tu muerte o en que no llegues a tiempo, espera un load entre cada intento como de 5 a 10 segundos. Sin embargo, cuando le agarras por donde ir, es muy padre recorrer toda la ciudad rapido y sin perder velocidad.
El juego tiene mucho contenido, en cuanto a coleccionables, y retos alternos, lo que hara que obtener todos los trofeos/logros te tome un buen tiempo. La musica es buena, pero no se me hizo tan memorable como la del primero. Las graficas buenas, pero al usar el mismo estilo del anterior, cuando mas lucen es en los 'cinematicos'. El gameplay es similar al juego anterior, pero ahora tienes que desbloquear algunos movimientos que antes tenias, ademas de gadgets, y otras habilidades que te permitiran abrir nuevas areas y atajos; tiene una pizca de Metroidvania en este sentido. El control en general es bueno, pero habra ocasiones en que diras 'por que no corrio por la pared?' y reintentaras haciendo practicamente lo mismo y ahora si funcionara... como en el primer juego tambien vaya.

Juego muy recomendable si estas buscando algo diferente y la premisa te intriga, pero no siento que sea una extension natural de lo que era el juego anterior. Muy buen juego, pero con algunas areas de oportunidad menores.
