When Maggie’s mother-in-law offers up a chance for Maggie along with Neil and her best friends to set to rights a property Maggie is all for it especially when she is in charge of getting rid of the present tenant, a ghost. The property is a little outdated so fixing it up is a cinch but ghost hunting is not as easy as it looks when you have no prior experience of finding or removing such a thing. But it appears the ghost knows they are there and one creepy event after another has Maggie realizing she may be in over her head on this one. Neil never wavers in helping her out or helping her uncover clues but his main objective is getting Maggie back on emotionally stable ground and his method of doing so may make their personal relationship more than a little on the rocks.
Accidents abound, clues come then go, rumors run in front of the gossip, and through it all Maggie never loses her focus on figuring out if the problem is human or supernatural. She is convinced it cannot be both but she has been wrong before and those times were it seems as perilous as this case. The objective of just one normal day is not in Maggie’s profile but perhaps it should be now that she is spreading herself a little thin
This series is a must read for its complete package of character, romance, chaos, and best of all Maggie, a woman just as imperfect as the rest of us. Jennifer L. Hart delivers with every book and this series only down side is she cannot write them fast enough.
I feel that I've made new friends and I would love to visit with them soon. I truly hope our author reads these reviews!!! I completely recommend these books, without reservation, to everyone who enjoys interesting stories, family dynamics, and mysteries!!!! I wish there were more!!!!!
By the way, I didn't write reviews after the first two books because I was too busy getting to the next book. If there were a fourth book in this series I wouldn't be writing this review!!!
And then a new opportunity opens. Just like 'The Laundry Hag', she is dragged into it. Come on. A ghost? Maybe. A murder from thirty years ago? What could be safer?
I used to tell people I read books because it showed me how to deal with life. True a novel is always bigger than reality but there are some very real issues in this book. Does she solve all of her problems? No of course not, but I enjoyed reading how she found and started her healing journey. I hope the author finds a way to continue this character.
