I have a model that was made after the initial issues with loose straps. The device has only popped out 2 times in the 6 months or so that i have owned it and both times required a strong tug while caught on the inside of my backpack.
The Misfit app is great -simple, good-looking, and I was easily able to find my friends who also have the Shine 2, and compare scores with them. The best thing about it is that you don't ever have to think about it... It quietly records data and when you want, you can review your day on the app.
In my MMA class, the disc DID pop out during some intense hand to hand wrestling with a partner, but aside from that, the band works great.
The Shine 2 reviews said generally that the band was much improved and that they figured out how to get it to stop falling out, and I was excited about the design adjustment and got one. Now less than two weeks after I got it, it fell out and I couldn't find it again. I love everything else about it, but the band made it a total waste of money for me because it can't even keep a hold of the dang thing. It's a huge bummer, really.

This one came highly recommend on a lot of forums for its reliability and I saw a ton of youtube videos as a reference. So here is a short list of pros and cons for helping you decide weather it's worth it for you or not. (Please note I don't know if it was just an issue with my device or in general.)
1- one of the sleekest looking fitness trackers out there.
2- easy to set up.
3- battery life for eons.
4- really liked the wrist strap.
And as far as I am concerned that is where the pros end.
1- app very cumbersome. (Android)
2- pairing issues.
3- there should have been an attachment included which I saw in the versions launched in the US. Did not get it.
4- didn't feel worth the 6.5k
5- pedometer, was utterly useless.
This I would admit was my first fitness tracker and to be honest you'd be better of with a Garmin heart rate monitor and it's accompanying app.
