When the time comes where she needs to cover the Brookes Jewelry company along with its owners and family members, her chances of being taken seriously is getting slimmer especially after her boss saw her almost naked during an afternoon lake retreat. Man, what I sight that has been!
What made this story even more entertaining are the snippets about the other Anderson family members, what with the cantankerous matriarch (read: Piper's mother) that everyone has to deal with. And one more thing, I always loved reading about the pieces of advice (and crazy suggestions) that Miss Behave aka Piper shared on her column. Gosh, she's a hoot!
One thing that got me a little cringing though, were the lack of comma placements and misuse of some words throughout the book. I easily get distracted and irritated when the whole thought of a sentence is nowhere near making sense because of the misuse of punctuation marks. It's like riding a train that doesn't stop on its destination, but keeps on going and going until someone gets the attention of the driver to make the journey stop. Sorry, I know this isn't a big deal to others, but to me, punctuation marks are everything.
Nevertheless, Traci Highland wrote a really delightful and amusing story that has a little mystery, romance, a bit of suspense, and a whole lotta comedy. A nice way to spend an afternoon by the lake, after skinny dipping perhaps? (if you read this book, you'll know what i mean)
The writer needs refine her abilities, but she's off to a strong start.
