I was also surprised at how easy it is to murder your spouse and get away with it for years or altogether, even after some where multiple murders occur.
I also didn't realize that so many men felt that the only answer to the problems they have is to murder.
There also seems to be a real control issue with a percentage the male population.
Its sad that even tho it is fairly certain they did kill them.. It goes unpunished for years, if at all.
Reading this book certainly caused me to rethink warning signs in relationships.
I've seen many of these traits in friends and family relationships and feel lucky in some of my past ones. Things could have turned deadly very easily and quickly. Scary!
Caution to wife's with jealous, controlling, abusive or unstable men in your life... Don't let them read this book, they may get ideas!
Lolol... Just kidding, but do take warning if your in this type of relationship and stay safe.
Very well written, I enjoyed this thought provoking book.
The author did a wonderful job relaying the facts of each case and paying tribute to each one of the victims.
Hopefully some one knows some thing and the still missing wives will eventually be returned to their familys.
.Sadly, none of the families of these missing women have gotten complete closure, because their loved one has never been found!
This book highlights 30 chilling stories involving such cases. JJ also gives a description of each woman at the end of the story in hopes that somebody will remember something and come forward!
J.J. Slate’s Missing Wives, Missing Lives is a chilling true-crime narrative of 30 cases of wives who remain missing and whose husbands are suspected of having a hand in their disappearance, and presumed murder. Some of the cases in this book go back to the 1970s, and in some, authorities have even managed to indict and convict the husband of murder, despite having no corpse. Each case, though, is a story of a family that continues to seek answers, and will chill you to your marrow.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review.
The author lists all her source material (some of the cases occurred in Europe) and obviously did all the necessary research to make the information as accurate as possible. She also lists the jurisdictions and phone numbers in case anyone reading the book knows anything about the cases, so that the families involved can lay their lost family member to rest.
If nothing else, this book shows how difficult it is to really know someone well, as some of these couples were married over 25 years
J.J. Slate has given you the history of what happened before the women went missing. The trial and sentence and a website to go to if you have information about the victim.
