About the Author

Rev. Dr. Joe Boot is the founder of the Ezra Institute for Contemporary Christianity and the senior pastor of Westminster Chapel, Toronto. In the UK he is Director of the Wilberforce Academy and Head of Public Theology for Christian Concern. In the US he is Senior Fellow of the think-tank truthXchange and Senior Fellow of the Centre for Cultural Leadership. Joe holds a Master's degree in Mission Theology (University of Manchester U.K), and a Ph.D. in Christian Intellectual Thought (WTS, Florida USA). He is the author of Searching for Truth (2003), Why I Still Believe (2005) and How Then Shall We Answer? (2008).

I just finished this book this morning - it has been a joy to read! It's a scholarly book but I found myself not wanting to put it down the whole way through. This desire to keep reading usually only happens when I'm into an action packed book about a special forces unit behind enemy lines. The reason I found the book so compelling is it's relevance to all the big issues happening around us. It addresses the social, educational, political, economic and religious issues facing us right now, from a completely Biblical perspective, and calls us as followers of Jesus Christ to be His salt and light in every dimension of life. I find very few pastors these days apply the Bible's teachings to the hot political and social topics of our times (especially from the pulpit) and as a result I believe many Christians are in the dark about where they should stand and how they should take action on these issues. This book is a great aid for connecting/applying the Word of God to the realities of the age we live in. (P.S. The kindle version allows you to copy and paste quotes - a great time saver.)
