5.0 out of 5 stars These are amazing paints at a great price
By Lindsay Weirich on July 18, 2016
These are amazing paints at a great price. If you were to buy these paints individually from an art supplier they would cost between $334-$541 depending if you got them on sale or retail. The colors are very pigmented and you can mix many colors together without getting mud. This set has many red/pink tones and only 2 greens so this set is more useful for a floral/still life painter than a landscape painter, even so, the price kinda makes up for that. I will add a photo of the first painting I did with the set and a swatch. I hope it is helpful. When I ordered this set it was $86 and it did not come with the palette (I kinda wish I got this with the palette tho:)

1.0 out of 5 stars Very poor quality, bad customer service
By suzy on January 7, 2020
First, the pallet they send as a promo was not included.

Second, the packaging was totally different than what is pictured on this listing and the Mijello website. Being unsure if this was either really old or really new, I decided to open it up and check out the product.

Many, many of the colors are different. There are extra colors (like Autumn Orange), and many missing colors (like Perm Red and Prussian Blue). Again, being unsure if this was all part of the packaging change, I started putting paints into a pallet I had on hand.

While many of the videos I have watched about setting up and reviewing this set show nice creamy consistency that is similar across all colors, in this box everything ranged from dry and chunky to almost watery. I tried to sample some with a cheap brush (since I didn’t want mold touching my good brushes - are below), and indeed these thinner colors were washy and hard to build up, unlike what I’ve seen in my research. I like transparent paints, and if it’s a brand or shade that’s supposed to be that way I get it, but again it’s the differences between my experiences here and what it seems like everyone else was experiencing that just made the whole thing suspect.

The next thing I noticed was that there was MOLD in several of the colors (possibly more, who knows if there’s some unseen in the tube or within the paint but not on the surface!). Some had chunks the size of the photo I’ve provided or larger, and several others had small chunks. There’s also a weird smell. Now I’m suspicious and starting to rethink all the other weird discrepancies...

I looked closer at the tubes and realized that some appear to have been relabeled...this is especially apparent on Cobalt Blue No.2 (pic included...it’s more obvious in person than I could capture in the photo).

I have contacted both Amazon and the seller, hopefully they will make this right, as I paid over $145 once taxes are factored in for this set. Will update if/when they respond.

[UPDATE] Customer service strung me along for days, before saying they would not refund me because they couldn’t resell these paints... if you can find these elsewhere I would recommend going with another seller. I’ve heard fantastic things about this product and look forward to trying it properly at some point.
