The complete lack of any branding whatsoever on this edge finder casts serious doubt upon its authenticity. I own a Mitutoyo .500 dia edge finder, and it has Mitutoyo's trademark prominently laser-engraved on the shank. I returned this one.

Want to share a tip that has helped me a lot with CNC milling. Example: find the left side, set x to 0. Find the right side. Let's say it was 11.2763. Move edge Finder above top of part. Enter this gcode - G1 X[11.2763/2] f5. It does the math for you, no need to pull out the calculator, it takes you to the center; set x to 0. You are welcome.

Works as advertised. It will find the edge of a work-piece within .001-.002" consistently. I recently used it to relocate a hole that needed a deeper counterbore so I used the edger finder to get me in the ball park. After dial indicating the hole the DRO showed the difference to be .001" on the Y axis and .002" on the X. Great tool!

Comes in handy when having to find the center on metals using the Milling machine. If you want to find the exact center - you got to have one of these. Once you learn how to use it, you don't want to be without it!

Edge finder works not sure if its really mitutoyo but its precision ground and hardend so it works accurately every time. Some were upset not rpm to use was given. I always go with 1200 but i find that 800-2000 works.
