There was a lady who said the title was misleading and I don't know what she's talking about. There is a basic muffin mix which all the muffins have in common - flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, shortening and eggs.
My boss had this book on hand so I decided to use it's recipe. The muffins were bland. Even after doubling the sugar I found them to be almost inedible. One of my coworkers compared the muffins to cardboard with blueberries in it. I tried again with a chocolate chip muffin, adding extra chocolate into the batter. What I got was a chocolate flavored piece of cardboard. The book is great for different flavor combinations for muffins, but I would not use it for its recipes.
These are some of the best muffin recipes I have ever used, and they come with ideas for substitutes, like using half whole wheat flour to make them healthier.......... definitely great value for the money.

Really loved the simplicity of this format. The muffin recipes go from sweet to yummy savory....my personal favorite is the corn bread bacon muffins. Read morePublished on May 20, 2013 by Ed Wegner
This book does just what it says it gives you a basic mix and 99 variations on that mix. Is it the best muffin recipe in the world? I don't think so. Read morePublished on April 23, 2013 by K. Johnson
This is a great book. I actually make bread instead so I double the cooking time. So far everything has been great......oh, I tend to double the eggs to get better texture. Read morePublished on May 9, 2011 by freddie

It is not really one mix for all those different muffins, but I was more than satisfied with the muffins I made from this book.Published on November 11, 2010 by Susan Westemeyer
