I run slightly on the outside of my feet (underpronation/high arches) and this has been giving me some knee pain recently (I am 27) particularly when I run on road (paved or dirt) as it curves down to the left. This shoe is great for my style of running and is quite supportive overall. I have run with them on pavement, dirt road, and trails in the woods already and have been quite happy overall, a big step up from my last pair.

I know that different arches may make this shoe not the perfect fit, but it certainly has been great for me!

note: if you are unsure how you run (outside of feet/inside) check an old pair of running shoes. normal pronation will have some wear on the outside of the foot and inside of toe, underpronation is only on the outside edge, and overpronation is on the inside.

UPDATE: 100 miles in and no knee pain, long runs were getting me before but no issues at this point, the support of these shoes still feels great! Really love their feel on the trails, but road is working great too.

These shoes are well made and rather durable. As far as fit goes you need to know what your personally looking for, use Runners World or something simular to ensure a proper shoe choice, however if you have this as a suggestion, they are one of the best trail running shoes I have found thus far. Majority of connections are sewn rather than glued and the toe-box is pretty protective for hazardous running where 'stubbing' your toes is likely. VERY BRIGHT. If you don't want to stand out, then these might not be for you... But if you like the individualistic touch then they are perfect.

Trail shoe bought specifically for Tough Mudder in Wintergreen, VA. Very sturdy and capable off road. Also good for road traction in bad weather. Not for daily road use, but servicable when needed.

This is my second pair of mizunos and I like them. You feel safe as they are easily seen from the distance and where I run there is too much traffic at rush hour. I stopped having this pain on the side of my knees since I first worn my mizuno running shoes. They seem to last long. Only time will tell.

These shoes were recommended by a running store who did the performed a "film you running on a treadmill test" to determine if you were pronating, etc.
Unfortunately, they had none in stock near my size nor any they could transfer as they new wave 7's were coming out (still not in stores either). I returned home and checked Amazon. Hooray! They had my size and they arrived overnight for a small fee. They fit perfectly out of the box and I couldn't be happier. These are seriously the best fit in a shoe I have experienced in quite a while. I would recommend to anyone who needs a little room in the forefoot but likes the heel to never slip.

I purchased the Ascend after using Saucony Peregrines for about a year. The SPs were fine, until I hit a rock in a race this Spring, and it tore through the shoe. Not surprising, since the SP outer layer was just mesh. So when I started looking for a new trail shoe, I wanted one that was a bit sturdier, to withstand the trails here in Central PA. I wear Mizunos on the road, and am happy with them, so I went looking to see if they had a trail shoe, and found the Ascend. Amazon's pricing was lower than Road Runner Sports (where I get most of my other gear), so I went with them, and have not been disappointed. I've put about 100 miles on the Ascends so far, and they're perfect. Not too heavy, supportive, they're built-up around the toe area to help deal with sharp objects, comfy, and they grip the trail well. A GREAT shoe!

I've only ran twice with these shoes so far, but the first impression is that these are well made shoes. I ran 3 miles each time through gravel, mud, paved surfaces and even snow on my second run and the shoes felt amazing! They have a very good grip and solid base that feels good over any type of terrain including gravel. I am truly impressed with these so far!

It's an all around good shoe but I like the Wave Ascend 5 a little better primarily because of the available colors and the 6 seems to have a slightly pointier toe than I prefer. Regardless the Wave Ascend 6 is a comfortable shoe with good traction and good performance.
