The company I was buying them from on Amazon did a fantastic job with shipping . It was fast and efficient. Thanks,
The first time I wore them I was pleasantly surprised at how cushy yet stable they were. I didn't know until I got them that the sole in the heel is basically an open "spring" that crushed and springs back with each stride. I tend to land on the ball of my foot, but sometimes the heel when I am getting tired, or when the terrain dictates it.
My runs sometimes force me along the gravel edge of a busy highway. I was cringing a bit when I knew I'd step on chunks of gravel, some as big as grapes. While I could tell I stepped on something, it was cushioned enough that I stopped worrying about it and just ran.
On smooth pavement the shoe feels like it's propelling you forward due to the design of it. The shoes did not make me faster from the effect, but my stride seems to like the way the shoes work.
Overall I am happy with the purchase of these shoes. If they fit your running style I think you could do worse than to give these a try.
I am now running with no pain!!!!!
I work from home and wear one pair of these shoes all day. They don't ever hurt my feet which is the ONLY pair of shoes I have owned that does that. I began walking on a treadmill, lifting some weights and stretching rigorously. I now am up to 3 miles some days with a minimum of 2 miles other days walking/running at about a 70/30 split of running to walking. I know to most runners out there this is nothing but for me it is HUGE because in the past running a half mile would cause knee swelling the next day and no activity for several days. I still will take an occasional day off each week and not get on the treadmill but moreover I have done it consistently to the tune of about 15 miles a week. I have little to no swelling. I owe it to these shoes. I'm sure the stretching is a major contributor but I have tried to do this before with other shoes and had no luck. I work out in them as well and they have stood up to leg workouts etc.
If I can keep this up and the knee strengthens I might actually be able to play basketball again!!!!! Does Mizuno make a basketball shoe??????
I know this review is centered more on me than the shoe - but this is to help you as the reader understand the value the shoe has brought to me. I own two pairs now - one to exercise in and the other to wear all day.
I can't tell you how they would do running on the pavement as I honestly don't think my knees could handle the jarring but who knows. I have owned them multiple months with no issues structurally. I normally wear between a 12 and 13 depending on brand etc. In these I wear a 13.
Great to be able to run again - thanks Mizuno.
