I have had bad shin splints for years, so I normally just do not run. I play tennis, and other sports a lot, so I was in decent shape. In August a friend convinced me to run a half marathon, so I went out to the big peach running store, had them fit me for shoes and bought these, and have been running 15-25 miles a week since. I'm 5' 9" and about 175-180 lbs. I average about 9:00 miles for anything above 8 miles.

They feel great! These shoes are supportive, they allow sweat/water to pass through, have a good spring in the step, and I couldn't be happier. As someone else said, if they get wet one day, they are easily dry by the next day.

My shin splints haven't hurt at all, and I have had no hot spots at all on my feet. Yesterday I ran 11 miles, and although my body is a little sore, my feet feel great. I am running the half next Saturday, and am sure these shoes will give me everything I need to succeed (which in my case is to finish).

All in all, if you are nuetral or under-pronate, I'd give these a try!

This is the first pair of Mizunos I have owned and I love them. I bought mine November 17 and have put over 300 miles on them since then. They are very light weight and so far seem very durable with no noticeable wear on the soles yet. My longest run in them to date is 31 miles and they felt as good when I was done as when I started. I will be getting another pair soon so I can rotate my shoes since I have added another day of running each week.

I've been an avid runner and Asics aficionado for 12 years. A few years ago I trained for 7 months to run a marathon using the Asics DS Trainer, and that was generally my shoe of choice for many years. These days I usually run 7-12 miles per session at ~7 minute miles. I never considered switching to Mizuno until I started experiencing knee pain using my Asics and went to a local store for a shoe fitting. This revealed that I was a neutral striker with high arches and thin feet. I switched to the Mizuno Wave Rider 13 based upon this fitting and literally felt my knee getting BETTER as I progressed through my first 8 mile run.

I repeat: my knee was hurting before I ran, and by the end of the first 8 miles my knee didn't hurt anymore.

Since then I've run about 400 miles on them and they are now getting to the end of their spring. Nevertheless the bottoms show no wear and the uppers look almost like the day I bought them. I just bought a replacement pair from Amazon.

If you take a close look at the structure of the shoe, you'll see that there is a more rigid piece of black plastic that is wave-shaped and extends from the midsole to the heel, interwoven with softer rubber. On my shoe this is labeled "Mizuno Wave" and I believe that is the technology that provides the lightweight stability and high performance. Obviously, no one else has this exact design and I highly recommend Mizuno's because of it.

I am a huge fan of the Wave Rider 13's. I have worn them for years and was dissapointed when they discontinued them. The 14's were not the same shoe. The toe box was changed and not for the better. If you can find the 13 out there still buy it as they are awesome shoes. I bought 8 pairs when they were discontinued. Unfortunately, I am on my last pair. If I can find more on-line, I will buy them.

I have put or 600 miles on these shoes, and they have not worn down or broken in any way that I have seen. I have raced in track with these, and these shoes are the best I have ever owned. They have great traction, on a track, treadmill, in a gym, or outdoors. They are very lightweight, and do not accumulate sweat and do not build up heat (AKA, your foot can "breathe"). Also, these dry quickly if you get them wet. These are very sturdy shoes for good running, and can withstand large amounts of abuse. They also absorb impact well, and seem to both cushion and add spring to every step. They break in well, have a good arch support, and are very comfortable. In addition to all this, they just look plain cool, I mean, who doesn't want to run in these?

I got my first pair of Mizuno shoes a couple of weeks ago and love 'em! I had purchased a pair of ASICs, based on the reviews and while I thought they were nice shoes, I had blisters after wearing them twice. Even though I ordered a larger size than what I normally wear in shoes, they just didn't fit my feet well. Mizuno's also were rated high and I ordered a pair, also in one size larger (which I recommend) and they have felt great. They provide great support, especially for my knees. I'm sure when it comes time for me to get a new pair, I'll stick with Mizuno's!

Mizuno is the best brand. I have a pair of these shoes for sprinting and one for distance running. they are very versatile in that they bend enough to give you the extra force you need to run fast. I have friends that have gotten shin-splints faster wearing Nike shoes then Mizuno's. These shoes are light weight but also do an amazing job with supporting your feet. I have noticed that these shoes don't have random bumps and turn and uncomfortable closed toes, they are designed to be very comfortable. They give you the right amount of spring in your step to support you with a nice stride. I have put hundreds of miles on my shoes and they still work amazing. As a bonus the design of the shoe and color make it so when you run through mud and water the shoe doesn't look old and warn out like many other brands. If you run through water or your feet sweat a lot the shoes dry rather quickly. They are worth the price you pay because if you begin to have physical problems you will be less likely to run, there for not worth the cheep shoe. I love these shoes so much I almost have the rainbow in colors of different Mizuno shoes. These shoes form a bond with you and you become one with them as you take them on many adventures. They are all around amazing and tons of runners that I know wear them. I would highly recommend these shoes!
