also you can't beat the amazon price for these!
Totally would have replaced them with another pair of WR 12's but they are obsolete. Wanting to replicate the comfort and neutrality of those shoes, and with a little trepidation because of some of the reviews here, I ordered the 14's- I did size up a half size, again because of the reviews here and on other sites.
Out of the box they felt a tiny bit stiffer than the 12's, but perhaps that was newness. The soles are exactly the same size as my old 12's, even though they are a size up, the fit seems exactly the same on my foot. Yes they are a little higher on the ankle but it did not cause me any blistering or chafing after two 10k's in a row. I put them on and went, and I love them to death. Toe box is fine (I have a wide-ish foot)
I just ordered a second pair!
Wave Riders are still a good neutral running shoe, but I hope they change back to the old fit in the next revision.
Despite reading the poor reviews, I decided to order a pair of WR 14's anyway... and I really wish I hadn't.
I don't have issues with the higher heal that others have mentioned, but I definitely notice the MUCH smaller toe box. Running in these shoes makes the top and arches of my feet cramp with shooting pains after runs over a few miles. They are simply too narrow for my (normal width) feet.
Also, I have had major heel blisters since I bought these as well.
Even though I only have 150 miles on them, I'm going to head to the running store to get fit for a different shoe.
